5.0 out of 5 stars Industrial socialist rock sountrack for the new revolution, May 8, 2004

This review is from: Power to the Poison (Audio CD)
InSuRgE have been quiet for a few years... don't worry, they are still together in a fashion. Power to the Poison People is their first EP, which contains all the tracks from Speculator plus a couple of extras.
Speculator starts the album, and sets the scene for what is to follow. It has a kicking beat, provided by their drummer and percussionist- whom hits cymbals and a variety of metal junk to give InSuRgE their signature sound - and its underlying message (money = power = greed) has threads through most of the rest of the tracks.

The cover artwork is pretty cool too. The inside sleve has a six page rant about the woes of the world, corporate power, the free market and the IMF. It is worth a read, and some of the books of suggested reading acually are worth reading, not just leftist dogma, but he does crap on a bit.

Fav. track on the album: 5. Soul 4 Sale. Cyberpunk anthem, hard vocals, industrial rock at its best!!

Least fav. track: 4 Politcal Prisoners. I do like this track, but the keyboardist Monique has little or no talent when it comes to actually playing the ivorys, and not just using it as a sampler.

Why to buy? Its the kind of music that makes you want to bounce off the walls, smash them down, and rebuild them in a better way. Support these guys as they are good to drink with!
