5.0 out of 5 stars Solid Principles Encourage Moms
As a mom to four kids, ages 9 to 22, I encourage all mothers to buy this book. Karol's principles of encouragement, prayer, a good attitude, and several others offer sound advice framed around engaging stories and very practical examples. I just wish I had it sooner!

3.0 out of 5 stars Great Reminder
While nothing in the book was a huge revelation ("your kids model themselves after you," "take care of yourself," "take care of your marriage," etc.), it was all a good reminder -- and it was nice to have the Biblical citations to back up the principles. Ladd is a great writer, making the material very easy and entertaining to read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Required Reading for All Moms, May 6, 2002
By A Customer
What a great book! Practical priniciples presented in a mom-perspective. It switched my outlook on how I am with my kids (ages 9, 3, 2, and newborn)-- all for the better.
I recommend this reading for moms, especially those moms who feel that they are always "challenged" by their kids.

5.0 out of 5 stars Life changing, May 11, 2004
By A Customer
With three kids (one in high school, two in middle school) and the constant negative influences in all of our lives, I really needed this book. For those of us that don't have a consistently positive attitude and are at a place with our teens wondering "how did we get to this point?", this book offers the gentle awareness that we need. But the best part is rather than trying to answer that question, the author gives much needed advise on how to do it right from here on out. I have applied some of her teaching and have seen instant and dramatic changes in my family's life. I plan on rereading the book with more focus on the scriptures she calls out to review. I urge anyone with a wayward teen to turn to this book. (this refers to the paperback edition)

5.0 out of 5 stars LOVE this book...., January 29, 2006

I have to say, I bought this book on a whim...liked the sound of the title, and didnt even research it.

Wow...God knew this is what I needed!(hence how I stubbled onto it) This book is beyond amazing. I was starting to get burned out being a stay at home mom, questioning if I was really doing the best for my children being home with them, and overwhelmed with the daily never ending duties that come along with all of it. Ladd talks to you like you are human, not superwomen, and makes you see that your struggles are everyones struggles and that you are normal. Since I started reading this book, I have felt a huge turn around in my own attitude and it reminds me how much what I do means something.

This book is written perfectly. Each chapter is on a normal everyday struggle, it provides scripture to read pertaining to the topic, a prayer at the end of the section, AND activities to do to help you reinforce what you just read (so it doesnt go in one ear and out the other:)

PLEASE PLEASE make this a book you get, I will be giving it to friend and family as gifts, that is for sure! Thank you Karol Ladd, you helped me see my way out of my rut!

5.0 out of 5 stars WHAT A GREAT BOOK!!!!!!!!!!, August 26, 2004
By
I read this book while I was still pregnant with my first child. It was such an amazing inspiration. It included sweet ideas of how to express cute actions of love & positivity for your children. The prayers and scriptures were very motivational and reminded me, once again, that God's glory is great for the mind, body, & soul and is all you need when it seems that your daily routine has steered you away from the positive mental attitude you woke up with (with which you intended to face the new day). This book reminds you to take those necessary moments to pray and remain spritually focused to enable yourself to have the power of a positive mom and wife, as well as impacting the lives of your family with words of encouragement of God's eternal love. After reading the first couple of chapters, I decided to start highlighting and book-marking certain paragraphs and pages that I wanted to refer back to once my son was born. Before I knew it, almost the entire book had been highlighted bright yellow and mini post-its were stuck in between so many pages it buldged. I have bought this book for 3 of my friends who have loved it just the same! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! God Bless!

5.0 out of 5 stars Changed my Outlook, March 4, 2003
By A Customer
This book is an uplifting look at motherhood, and the opportunity we have to enrich children's lives and build them up. As a new stepmom, the book has helped to give me a more positive attitude toward my stepson and to remember how much influence I have over his life. The book is very readable and includes Bible references that show her material is straight from the Word. An excellent book for mom's quiet time and Bible study.

5.0 out of 5 stars Inspiring and Thoughtful Encouragement for mothers, January 18, 2006
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I just started reading this book several weeks ago and find my self re-reading certain pages over and over again. What a wonderful piece of work for moms to have.
This book is a guide that inspires and directs you into a Godly path of being a positive mom. Aside from God our children have us as their guidance in life. The power we posses as mothers can be extremely damaging or extremely positive.
"The Power of a Positive Mom" encourages us to take the longer road of being that insight of positive radiance in the lives of our children

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Collection to any Mother's Library!, August 5, 2005
Reading a little bit from this book each day brought such peace and encouragment to me. My son is only 2, but I realize that parenting is not a "fly by the seat of your pants" type job. We need instruction and direction in order to raise Chirst-like children. This book is full of wonderful references to scripture, wonderful end of chapter activities, and wonderful real life advice. I urge any one interested to add it to their collection!
