I have read many books on prayer and I have found this one to be among the very that I have read. The authors really explain what prayer is and how it works without attaching it to any one religion. I like the fact it is not biased, but explains prayer as a "song of the soul."

Also, we tend to regard prayer as something we use to ask for things for ourselves. In Power Prayer, there are techniques to help you enhance your prayers, to make them more powerful, and there are also techniques by which you can use prayer to send healing to people who are sick - and to use for victims of disasters, and so on. I have tried the methods in the book, and also some of the absolutely beautiful prayers at the end of the book - and wow, I really felt a difference.

I also had an amazing healing experience when using the healing prayer, which I will relay to the authors. I think the best thing about the book is that it is, well, INSPIRING! It is one of those books you read that makes you think "Wow, I really can do it!" With this book, you think "Wow, I really am powerful, I really can heal people, I really can change the world" type thing.

It also contains lots of scientific experiments and proof of prayer, which is nice. It is a great resource book and one I can happily send to friends of mind who are Christian, as well as friends who are Jewish and also Buddhist (as well as a couple of friends who don't even believe in religion or prayer; it's that convincing). So, yes, I agree with the other reviewer, it is a groundbreaking book. I think if you are interested in the power of prayer and healing, you definitely have to have this one on your shelf.

I recently heard about this book from listening to the authors being interviewed on the Marianne Williamson radio talk show. What they were saying was EXTREMELY INTERESTING and VERY UNIQUE, so I read this book. It is VERY INFORMATIVE.

I have not come across another book anywhere that covers prayer in such simple and practical terms. I thought I knew a lot about this topic until I came across the techniques described in this book. The information presented in this book is EXTREMELY UNIQUE and is a result of years of study and research by both of the authors, who back their claims by citing scientific studies. I am just amazed how EFFECTIVE my prayers have become since using the techniques described in this book. This is a very encouraging book.

This is a groundbreaking book. I was sent an early review copy and believe this book to be in the league of The Power of Now or Anatomy of the Spirit. Marianne Williamson, who writes the Foreword, calls this a "remarkable book", and it is. This seems to be a "magnum opus" for the authors, and I wish them all the best with it. Every serious student of truth, or lightworker should order a copy.

have to disagree with the last reviewer. This is a terrific book, full of personal perspectives. I have met the authors and heard them teach. I know for a fact that they are not just some New Age authors, but are serious students of metaphysics and esotericism since they were young (for over 30 years each). They have seriously studied and practiced prayer for many years under renowned Yoga Master, George King. Apart from that their studies have led them to profound realizations of their own. They are definitely not just parroting other people. Their findings are the result many years of serious practice. I am not just talking about an odd prayer here or there, but they really pray with their hearts and souls intensely for many hours on end. The last reviewer says their work is a copy of others. Well, there is nothing new under the sun. The way they have brought together different aspects of prayer and metaphysics is not new, but it contains profound insights, masses of personal experience and is an extremely helpful guide for anyone interested in prayer. It is definitely not some fluffy New Age guide as he implies. It is a serious study presented in a very user-friendly, easy-to-ready way.

"Meditation on the Divine Self" exercise is my favorite technique from this juicy, lively book. But it's crammed with useful understandings and wise advice.

One of the most significant things about this marvelous book is how the co-authors give anecdotes about experiences with prayer-results they achieved, miracles initiated by their prayer students-yet there's never the feeling of bragging. As a lifelong reader, plus someone who worked professionally as a book reviewer for six years, I can't tell you how rare this is. Of course, if you're discerning about the tone of books, you don't need me to because you know exactly what I'm talking about.

Because I've been a fan of Chrissie's writing for a number of years, and know her personally a bit through emails, I chanced to learn that the proceeds of this remarkable book are donated to the spiritual organization for which she has served as a minister for decades, the Aetherius Society.

Trust Chrissie and Gary NOT to trumpet this fact on the jacket or make it a big deal in the promotion of the book. That speaks for their uncommon integrity, too. Many an author or publisher has bragged about giving part a book's profits to a worthy cause, using the charity (however miniscule the percentage) as a means to gain media attention and turn buyers' sales resistance into mush. Here, quietly, they're giving it all away. May this remarkable book make a million for the Aetherius Society! And may seven million dollars more come back to Chrissie and Gary!

One of my favorite parts of the Bible, in the Book of Matthew, concerns the sanctity of prayer when done directly to God, without bragging. Those who boast about their holiness and good deeds are said get their rewards on earth, not in heaven. From the behavior of many so-called Christians, you wouldn't know they'd read this central bit of scripture, would you?

But Chrissie and Gary walk their talk. Whatever your religious path, this jewel of a book can add to your crowning glory--which, contrary to conventional wisdom-is NOT your hair.

Before and after trying their prayer techniques, try reading the festival of light shining out of your body, including the crown chakra at the top of your head.

I recommend doing this because it's a real way to gauge the authentic power of this book. Using a technique for spiritual discernment-"Finding a New Church Home," in my how-to, "Aura Reading Through All Your Senses," I can tell you that results in my own aura prove unquestionably that POWER PRAYER really is powerful.

I'm so grateful for this book. If you're considering buying it, don't hesitate. May you, too, find results from this inspired, generous and wonderfully practical book.

This book is a treasure. Truly worth the money to buy. I have been taking notes so that I may use my understanding to help others. Actually, perhaps I should just purchase several more copies so I can give them to my clients.

This book hit the spot. I really enjoy the visualization exercises (about a doz in the book).

Personally, I found that the rest of the text was at times hokey and generally did not add to my body of knowledge. ALTHOUGH, it would have all been new information to me 20 years ago. I WISH I had come across this book then, would have filled in the gaps and saved me $100s I spent on other books. The book ties together different customs, cultures and practices very succinctly.

STRONG and easy visualizations. I'm very comfortable with how they are presented, very neutral and direct. I appreciate that. If your a visual person, this will come easily to you too - they provide great pointers if you are not. Simple and easy to remember, intuitive steps in the process.

The core of the book, simply stated, is that you have to focus and collect your prayer (thoughts and feelings) and you do this through your prana/life-force/chi/energy. It only takes a couple of minutes (versus meandering prayers throughout the day, which is what I was raised with as a Catholic). This type of prayer feels more productive, and I can sense that it is.

This book is just a collection of other people's ideas as is common in the New Age publishing industry. But this, in itself, is not so bad. This book brings together a lot of different ideas for prayer and visualization. That is not a bad thing, but if you have been reading these sorts of books for a long time then you will certainly want to pass on this one.
