This book reallly jumps into what God intended us wives to be. If you look at marriage many years ago it was about commitment, it was about the wife being the heart of the home while her husband was the head of it. God made woman as a partner and a helper for man and Stormie really covers it in detail. Marriages need the basic principals that she lays out in order to survive.

It really goes into great detail on how you can change your marriage just by changing yourself. IF YOU ARE SELFISH NATURED then you will hate this book. This book is about giving your heart and soul over to God and changing yourself to benefit your marriage. If you are the type that "won't change until he does" then don't buy this book because you need a Bible. You have to be willing to be completely unselfish the way Jesus Christ was when he was on earth. God is not saying "let the husband walk all over his wife." Most marriages that you see that have lasted 25 years or more today have God as the center of their marriage. The divorce rate 53% today, that has to tell you something? Something is missing, and it's God. If you change yourself to be a wife after God's own heart, then through you, God will reach your husband. Giving up is not the answer.

I have already gone through this book three times --- and I'll keep reading it. I'm buying copies for my friends. This is one of the most helpful books I've read about how to really change your marriage --- how to let God change it --- and the book is so practical!

This book was given to me by a neighbor for my birthday. I am a believer but my devotion to God had somehow nearly diminished. On Christmas Eve of 2007 my husband left me after 17 years. Ultimately, this book is about you. Before you dive in thinking "Great! I'll pray and change him" you need to know that this book changes you far more than it changes him, but it will help you in the discipline of prayer and help you to look at your husband in a whole new way. It will change you life.

This book will change you and your marriage. It changes your perspective and attitude. A must for anyone in a difficult marriage, struggling relationship or even to strengthen a good marriage! I bought two for my step-sisters.

I read this book about 10 years ago and it totally shifted the way I view my marriage and my culpability with our issues. I began to implement the principles from the book and the change it made in my marriage was amazing and nearly instantaneous. My spouse is truly my best friend and the other half of me and this book has helped direct us toward the only one who can truly build that foundation - God.I have recommended this book to all my friends and give it to new brides, in fact this copy was purchased for a friend with a troubled marriage.

A friend sent me this book when my marriage hit a really bad patch and I was going to throw in the towel. But reading this book and praying for my husband and my relationship following the guidelines in the book enabled me to find peace and a new and different love for my spouse. I encourage every woman to read this book, married or not. It's just as valuable to a non-marriage relationship. I purchased 3 for my daughters and a friend. I cannot express how wonderful this book has been.

At a time when I was unsure how to pray for my husband and my marriage, Stormie's book, given to me by my best friend, gave me the tools to speak life into our lives through scripture. The word of God will not return void!! Praying during our seperation, God restored our marriage and gave us a beautiful family soon thereafter. As my husband & I talked a year or so later about "the wife book" as we affectionately call it, I shared some of the specific prayers I prayed over him repeatedly during that time. He began weaping as he shared that even in his most distant time away from God, he could not run far enough to get away from God's voice guiding him during this time. The prayer over "his mind" was the one prayer God called me to pray several times each day. Partnered with God, MY prayers are powerful! Each of the other areas were prayed as God direct me to pray each day. I have given this book as a gift no less than 50 times since it was given to me 12 years ago... always keeping it with me even in my purse! When a friend or even a stranger shares a trying time in their marriage, we refer to "the wife book" to pray specifically over a particular area. It is FULL of scripture and therein lies the POWER!!
