Alrighty so it's almost 2010 and I'm happy to say that it's Morphin Time again for Bandai! Now I already own the original 1993 Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Megazord (bought back in the day) so as a long time fan I had no problem in purchasing the 2009 version at Target for $[...]. But let's review shall we?

1.0 out of 5 stars Fun but not Impressive
I was a die hard fan of the original Power Rangers and Megazord, but this is a disappointment.

Any kid would be able to love it as long as they do not compare it to the first.
The toy itself would be durable as it is made of strong plastic, but the connections will wear out eventually.

It may have been molded from the original, but it is...

Now this Megazord, the original Mighty Morphin Dino Megazord, is a pretty solid toy by itself. Like most megazords it is made up of 5 individual zords that combine into one big one. Each of the zords are pretty well built. Tyrannosaurus' legs are a little clicky but that's for stability I suppose. I was worried about Tank Mode when I saw the new knee connections for the Tyrannosaurus Dinozord but it forms it perfectly.

Compared to the original the Megazord is more streamlined and less bulky but the zords are smaller. Though they have fewer stickers than the original, the ones provided are very show accurate. Another plus is that despite being about shoulder-high to the original, Bandai made its legs longer so it looks more proportioned. It's even more in scale with the 1993 DragonZord! No chrome or moving wheels but that's kind of a minor point. Another retool is that it makes use of the new Vehicle Zord System. The arms and legs can be interchanged with the Dino Cycles and Zord Vehicles opening up several new modes. Look forward to how the DragonZord will utilize this system when it releases.

So overall it's a solid toy and fun even without the other vehicles. The Pterodactyl's legs are a bit small though so you may want to keep this for older kids. But if you've never owned the original Megazord this might be a good choice at a good price.

Thanks for Amazon & ToyWiz. U know what? I never had a chance to get this Dino Megazord since the first release on 1993... Although I already collect most of Power Rangers Toys, but this Dino Megazord is truly awesome, and bring back to our past time...
Maybe it's a litte bit smaller than the old one, but it still worth to become my collection.....

5.0 out of 5 stars Dino Megazord review, June 16, 2010

I got this for a birthday present, and I am glad to have done so. Easy to morph from dino to megazord and back. With the vehicle zord system which I was able to pull off (Green and Black dino cycles with the yellow and blue zord vehicles respectively.) I kinda felt like frankenstein, subbing the mammoth arms and triceratop and tiger legs for the cycles as the legs and the zord vehicles for the arms. You will too if you get the right parts.

I got this for my boyfriend for a nostalgic birthday present. It came in the box nice and neat, all the stickers were already on which saved us a lot of time! And all the pieces fit together great, very easy to assemble and take apart. It came right on time, no problems at all, great seller!

I was a die hard fan of the original Power Rangers and Megazord, but this is a disappointment.

Any kid would be able to love it as long as they do not compare it to the first.
The toy itself would be durable as it is made of strong plastic, but the connections will wear out eventually.

It may have been molded from the original, but it is much smaller, has weaker connections, and to top it off the wheels on the triceratops dont even move. It can be joined with the Dino Cycles, which were dreamed of somewhere that was not the Series itself.

Fortunately it was cheap, but I am permanently putting it back in the box and leaving it on my shelf along with the Classics.

I want to say I like the revamp of Power Rangers, but I think it would be better to improve on the Original Megazord, not do a full remake. Make the toys like they make the show: remaster it.

This toy is an excellent homage to the original and a viable option for mecha collectors on a budget as well as for kids. Be warned its not a straight reissue of the original it is a new mold based on the original.

Amazon.com's service was excellent as usual. I needed it there in a real short amount of time and it ws there a day early.

The product is excellent as advertised.

That is why I continue to buy from Amazon.com

Thanks,
Bob

Thw 1993 version puts this toy to shame! It's cheap flimsy and will break easily,The wheels on the triceratops and tiger do not even roll they are there for show which makes the tank mode useless I wouldnt pay more than $15 for it, i paid 30 at toys r us, and regret it. I would rather pay like $80 if they re released the original.
