I bought this DVD specifically for "Legacy of Power" episode, it's great. That episode shows a brief history of the power rangers to the Dino thunder Rangers.
The rest that are featured in this DVD are "Back in Black" which is continuation of the episode "Legacy of Power" where Tommy becomes a ranger. Then there is the episode "Diva in Distress" it features Kira and her best friend who is now a super star, and where people are being turned old and wrinkled by Mesagog. Through the course of the episode Kira tries to show that it's not what's on the out side that counts but on the in side "Golden Boy" is another episode, in this one Zeltrax ends up creating his own son, who battles out the rangers, at first they struggle then the rangers get back on their feet. "Game On" is the last episode on this DVD and it's about Ethan that gets addicted to this game he is playing, that he spends most of his nights at the rangers meet out place. There is a monster lose with the ability to send the rangers into that very game, so that's what he does with Kira and Ethan. I Can't say much about the episodes except that they were all alright but Legacy of Power was the best. I wasn't really a fan of Dino thunder because it was just too weird compared to Wild Force, Light Speed or any other series before Wild force. But you guys might like those episodes. Another thing that I wanted to bring up was that, Tommy some times is the center of attention in some of the episodes and it gets to be really annoying in the sense that Tommy has had his fun as a ranger and it seems like he is stealing the spot light of the other rangers. Other than that he is great just reduce the spot light on Tommy and it would be cool.

I purchased this product for my 4 year old nephew, Kobie. Kobie was excited, he enjoyed this movie so much. No one was able to even talk while he watched his movie. He has watched so much that he can now tell you all about it. This made me the greatest auntie in the whole world. And that was my reward. Two thumbs up for Power Rangers Dino Thunder. And the price was great too. Oh yeah, I had amazon.com to mail the product straigt to him; and for a 4 year old, that was awesome. Thanks Amazon.com

About 15 years ago, we all loved to hate "Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers" (MMPR) with its stereotyped teenagers, ridiculous monsters and gratuitous food fights. Not to mention Bill & Bull (or was it Hogan & Skull?).
"Power Rangers Dino Thunder" (PRDT) is a later incarnation of the same concept. It almost makes me miss the MMPR version. While the MMPR was a real turkey, PRDT is just bad. For starters, the stereotypes are gone. The cool Black dude aint dancin' no more. Instead, he's a computer hacker. The White hunk isn't a karate fighter or football quarter back, but a (wait for it) soccer player. Soccer??? In America??? You gotta by kiddin' my tyrannozord! What's next, I wonder? A petanque champion? A curling player? Lacrosse, or what? And the girl ranger isn't an accomplished gymnast, but a rock singer. Next, the "Monster of the Week" has been abolished (well, almost). No more Pudgy Pig or Chunky Chicken monster. Instead, we are treated to a couple of guys who look almost scary. I mean, they have the voices of Darth Vader. And almost the same masks, too. Even the dialogue has improved. Somebody actually taught the actors to crack one-liners. Here's one: "Your teacher doesn't intimidate us" (said in a Darth Vader voice). The Rangers respond: "That's because you never taken his pop quizzes". And, worst of all for us turkey-lovers, EVEN THE DINOZORDS ARE MORE COOL!!! Tommy the Multicoloured Ranger actually taps the power of a big black brachiosaurus... And yes, I'm being sarcastic... I also wonder about the villain in this version, Megatron. Sorry, I mean Mesogog. He seems to have some kind of identity problem, being split into bad and good halves. (Also like Darth Vader! Come on, it's a George Lucas rip-off!) The goal of the bad half is to exterminate humanity and bring back the time of the dinosaurs. Sounds like an excellent idea... Where do I sign up??? When Tommy the Everlasting Ranger tells Mesagog "The good guys always win", the villainous creature responds (like a Socratic philosopher): "That depends on who you think the good guys are"... Precisely. Two stars. For just being bad. |
