It's new and improved meets old school, as the folks at MGA combine the higher-wattage Power Rangers Lightspeed from FoxKids network with the old-time flippers 'n fingers fun of pinball. But the MGA marketing mavens tend to overstate the case: their use of the word electronic in their Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue Electronic Pinball Machine tends to promise voltage more powerful than that supplied by three C batteries (not included), resulting in a few flashing lights, some sounds, and an automatic LCD scorekeeping readout that wouldn't look out of place on a cheap digital watch. In fact, the game mechanics--the plastic flippers and ball launcher--operate without "electronics." This is one TV tie-in that tilts less toward Lightspeed than lightweight. --Tony Mason

My son is four years old and has been in Power Ranger mania for the past year. We own almost all of the Time Force toys (actually, we probably have all of them). We just received the pinball machine as a Christmas gift. I'm really not happy with it. It is EXTREMELY loud, to the point where I don't think that it's in a range that is safe for little ears. We tried to put some tape over the speaker, but it didn't make it much quieter. The inability to control the volume kind of ruins the fun.

When I ordered the pinball machine I based my purchase on the picture displayed, wrong I will never do that again, the picture shown has six bells with power rangers on them the one shipped to me has 3 bells and the power rangers sit up by the score panel, the picture was very misleading and did not represent the one shipped to me. Because this was bought for our grandson to take on vacation and play with while traveling we don't have time to return it to get another one and have learned a lesson from this purchase.

We were disappointed to find out this item is not the same as the one pictured. The one pictured shows more bumpers and the Power Rangers on the table top - the one we got had three bumpers and two power rangers on the outside toward the back of the machine. Oh well - not a huge diff but the not same toy.
