4.0 out of 5 stars The best of the GBA Rangers, September 7, 2003

with Ninja Storm, THQ learned from past mistakes concerning the previous two GBA Ranger games (Time Force and Wild Force), and actually put together a fairly decent game. Unlike the previous two incarnations on GBA, Ninja Storm plays just like a sidescrolling 16 bit beat-em-up. A good comparison could be Final Fight. You can play through the game as the Wind Rangers, the Thunder Rangers or the Green Samurai Ranger. With the Wind or Thunder level paths, you can switch to any ranger by pressing 'select', this is good when you play through as the Wind Rangers, and need the Blue Ranger to walk on water. The Green Samurai level path is the most difficult, yet he is the strongest of the Rangers, so it's an even trade. The show's fans will be very disappointed to find that this game was put together to correspond with the first few episodes of Ninja Storm, and due to that you won't see the sheer coolness of newer villains like Vexacus or Shimazu. Also, Kapri and Mara are strangely absent from the game entirely. Instead, you'll face Terrormole, Flourabundacus, Choobo, Zurgane and finally Lothor himself. The game is quite straight-forward, and hardcore gamers will finish it in less than three hours if they play through all three level paths (like I did). The one big plus of the game are the revamped Zord battles. They are more strategic, and demand that you time certain button combinations when prompted in order to land a successful hit on your foe. In the Zord battles, the Zord and the enemy share one life bar, and the more hits one side lands successfully, the more that side's bar takes up the other. If the Zord successfully weakens the enemy, you will be prompted to activate your finishing move by holding down the 'R' shoulder button and timing a sepparate button combo. Overall, Ninja Storm is a riot to play through the first time, but the lack of all the villains and a far too easy difficulty really keep the game from being a true GBA action classic

4.0 out of 5 stars actually likeable, September 11, 2003

while the game may still be a side scroll, its very playable, with the ability to harness each of the rangers weapons (ie. hawk blaster for red, crimson blaster, etc). finally with the declined price, a good buy. the puzzle solving element has been steepened, making the game more playable. For instance, you must throw the Kelzaks inorder to get past a fence, vs just blasting through. Also, you can only switched between each school at a time: (wind, thunder, or samurai) making you go through each level numerous ways, a personal plus. As well as school variance, the wind rangers each have their own special abilities which require you to switch through eachwind ranger to pass through a level. This combined with the heightened graphics make this the best game yet!

This is one of the best Power Rangers video game ever played on GBA!! You can play as all 6 rangers, beat up lots of Kelzaks, search for hidden Power Discs, and play the most challedging Megazord battles ever!! Despite short levels, this game rocks and also, Ninja Storm is got to be one of the best Power Rangers to be aired on TV!!
