Twenty years after the release of "Power Rangers Rock Adventure", Ron Wasserman, the original writer, musician, singer, producer and engineer for the first 4 seasons of the series, has re-recorded the best known songs and has released "Power Rangers Redux."
"Power Rangers Redux" includes remakes of "5-4-1", "Combat", "Cross My Line", "Fight", "Go Go Power Rangers", "Go Green Ranger Go", "Hope For The World", "I Will Win", "Lord Zedd", "Unite" and "We Need A Hero."
"The original recordings were done quickly to keep up with the production schedule", Wasserman said. "I wanted to use today's technology, and my additional 20+ years of experience as a producer, to 'punch up' the performances and energy to match todays sound."
Although I'm a long time fan of Power Rangers I only recently listened to the songs on their own and they are absolutely awesome and timeless. Then I bought this album and it's got the same classic Power Ranger Rockin' attitude but now it's got some extra. I honestly love listening to this album over and over again. This album is much more rockin' and high-impact energy while staying true to the originals. Definetly worth the purchase.
I still have my original adventure soundtrack on cassette. I'm sure my fellow MMPR fans here remember it. I was so happy to find an mp3 version of it online a couple of yrs ago. Someone must have transfered the tape to digital cause it didn't sound right. U could hear the bad quality since they must have used some software to get rid of the script from the original. Someone brought this to my attention this afternoon. The MMPR fan in me lit up and I purchased it instantly. As a fellow musician and I'm also an audio engineer I can understand why Ron wanted to recut these awesome songs. Because of production purposes it sucks to have to rush a song to keep up with the shows. So this was an awesome idea. I do have to say though you have to listen to these songs as if you've never heard them before, because Ron made some changes in certain sections in terms of song structure. For some songs the changes are great and in others they can throw you off. Perfect example for me is the mellow soothing middle section of "We Need A Hero". I liked it better in the original. But I'm not saying the recut version is bad. I still love it. You can also hear it in the theme song. But all in all as you can see I gave it 5 stars cause it's simply awesome. Btw the recut of "I Will Win"... AMAZING! Kudos Mr. Wasserman \m/
I have always love the theme songs to power rangers, especially might morphin power rangers, so when I went looking for the songs on the internet I could not find them for a reasonable price, and then I saw this, and was surprised when I found out that these classic songs were re-vision-ed and perfected by the man who originally did them, so I thought "oh yeah!"
