Editorial Reviews

Amazon.com

The Power Rangers live-action flick The End of Time rips off elements of Star Wars (lifelike robots), Ultra Man (tentacled building-bashing monsters), and Star Trek (crazy interiors), but ultimately shares less with established sci-fi phenoms than with babe-in-the-bathtub photos: anybody who unearths this program after the initial screening won't believe how goofy and impressionable he or she once was. Not only must the space-suited teens fight a band of human-destroying mutants here, they also have to combat horrendous dialogue, insipid melodrama, negligible acting skills, and not-so special effects. The kicking/karate-chopping action (which comes through with the required grunts of indistinguishable agony and/or exertion) cancels out the syrupy subplots to some extent, but there's no getting around badness this blatant and unapologetic. If your 6- to 10-year-olds are the intuitive type, chances are they'll chuck End of Time after a viewing or two, before it can come back to embarrass them. --Tammy La Gorce

Product Description

Jen, Katie, Lucas, and Trip receive a panicked call from Alex. Frax, he warns, is building Doomtron, a super-robot that will destroy the city. If the teens don't return to the future (3000) now, they won't survive. As Doomtron attacks the city, giant vortexes begin to suck the buildings into the sky. Eric sends in Q-Rex but it's no match for the giant robot. Things look bad ... really bad. Could this be the end of time for Time Force?

5.0 out of 5 stars Time Force re-energizes the Power Rangers Franchise, March 14, 2002

Power Rangers Time Force was a breath of fresh air after the former series, Lightspeed Rescue, just was not up to par.

This VHS, will have the last four episodes of Time Force: A Calm Before the Storm and The End of Time Parts 1 thru 3.

The storyline to bring Time Force to a close was very well-written and well played out by the team. Erin Cahill (Jen, the Pink Ranger), really shines in the three part finale as she takes control of her own destiny to go back and help Wes.

If you are a Power Rangers fan -- get this video. If you are a former fan wanting to see how good Power Rangers has gotten since the days of Mighty Morphin' check this video out.

4.0 out of 5 stars The End of Time, July 11, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Power Rangers Time Force - The End of Time [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This video contains the following episodes of Power Rangers Time Force:

A CALM BEFORE THE STORM
With Ransik's mutants depleted, the Rangers ponder their past and future as Rangers. Frax's new robot terrorizes the city, but is destroyed by Eric and the Q-Rex.

THE END OF TIME, PARTS 1-3
After delivering a baby, Nadira has doubts about hating humans. Frax is captured by Ransik, turned into a mindless robot, and forced into piloting Doomtron against the Rangers. As Eric and the Q-Rex fight Doomtron, Wes tricks the Rangers and forcefully sends them back to the future for their own safety. Doomtron incapacitates Q-Rex, leaving an injured Eric on the run with help from Wes. The two retreat to the Clock Tower, which is raided and destroyed. The Rangers take control of their fates, and go back to help Wes. As a team, they destroy Doomtron. Their final battle with Ransik ends with Ransik turning himself in after nearly killing Nadira. The Rangers part ways as the four leave to go back to the year 3000.

Although the finale of Power Rangers Time Force was excellent in the beginning and then started to go downhill, it's still memorable. I would recommend this to any Power Rangers fan.

4.0 out of 5 stars Time's up for Time Force! Noooooooooooo!!, July 22, 2002

Power Rangers Time Force is probably the best Power Rangers series there is. I definitely had high hopes for the finale, and for the most part it delivered. We got to see more of the blossoming friendship between the Pink Ranger and the Red Ranger, as well as Jen finally letting go of Alex. The story is action packed with a bitter sweet ending. Although this episode doesn't quite beat the finale of Power Rangers In Space, I think it is a close second along with the finale to Power Rangers Lost Galaxy. Power Rangers In Space, Power Rangers Lost Galaxy and Power Rangers Time Force brought a whole new quality to the Power Rangers shows. Of course, we'll try to forget the mistake that was Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue. Power Rangers Time Force is a return to form and these episodes edited into a feature length version certainly deliver. Bring on Power Rangers Wild Force!
