4.0 out of 5 stars Calamari strip - Very useful powerstrip
Pros:
-The main problem with conventional power strips is that once you start plugging those power adapters that come with your gadgets, one of those alone can take up 2 to 3 outlets in shear space. With these, you can plug up to 5 individual adapters. If that is your case, then this is very useful to you.
-You can buy it in pure all-white (if that is what...

3.0 out of 5 stars Eh, its ok, but I like my tripplite powerstrip better
I bought this and a tripplite powerstrip to try to solve my power block issues, but like the tripplite *much* more - this thing is big and ugly, the tripplite sidles 24 *spaced* outlets right up tight against the wall - more expensive but well worth it - it may be the last power strip you ever need.

This review is from: Power Sentry S10063100206/17 General Purpose Power Multiplier (Black) (Electronics)
Pros:
-The main problem with conventional power strips is that once you start plugging those power adapters that come with your gadgets, one of those alone can take up 2 to 3 outlets in shear space. With these, you can plug up to 5 individual adapters. If that is your case, then this is very useful to you.
-You can buy it in pure all-white (if that is what you prefer-Target has it) if you shop around.
-the main cord (not shown) that you attached to the wall is quite long which allows you more flexibility in reach.

Cons:
-You may think first that it is unique, strange and even a conversational piece, but after that and having given it a second look, it does not look as pleasing as you would like it to be. Particularly if you have 5 power adapters attached to it. It is also huge.
-For 2$ more you can buy their version that has a built-in surge protection.

5.0 out of 5 stars Take care of those space-hungry power supplies, March 8, 2007

It seems like every electronic gadget comes with a power supply that has a bulky plug that occuplies at least two plug-in spaces on your power strip. The squid is the answer. Now you can plug your power supplies in, one per outlet. This device is well worth the money in simplifying the tangle under you desk.

4.0 out of 5 stars does the job, November 23, 2007
This review is from: Power Sentry S10063100206/17 General Purpose Power Multiplier (Black) (Electronics)
The Power sentry does the job as advertised. It is more bulky than the photographs would suggest. These also have a "plasticky" smell to them, which can't be good for you to breathe in. After a few days, the off-gassing subsides and you have an inert piece of plastic doing its job - distributing power receptacles so that variations in power cords can be addressed adequately.

5.0 out of 5 stars This really is an all black Power Squid!, February 11, 2009

This review is from: Power Sentry S10063100206/17 General Purpose Power Multiplier (Black) (Electronics)
I've bought these for a few years at my local Target. They are always black and yellow. Which looks awful. This black Power Sentry 5-Outlet PowerSquid Power Multiplier is really all black except for the switch and light.

It looks a lot nicer than the other squids. At Target Power Squids are usually $13+ with tax added on. Via Amazon they are $9.99 each. This is a great savings over buying at the local store and is delivered to my door.

We have many devices which use power bricks (Wii, Xbox, Ethernet Switches) and the power squid makes it easy to connect them up.

It is best to use a power squid where at least 3 or 4 devices need power and have large bricks. These will be unsightly no matter what. Then hide the cables in whatever creative way you can think up. A collection of cables to a squid doesn't have a great aesthetic appeal (unless you are an uber geek).

The cables to and from the Squid are thick, it's purpose seems to be to offer large power bricks an easy way to connect up from a single outlet.

If you don't have a lot of power bricks, then a more traditional power strip would be more appealing.

I purchased three of these. One for each of my computers, and one to handle all those pesky power-tool chargers in the garage. As I stated, "Simply Great!"

This product was much larger than I thought it would be, but makes managing multiple AC adapters a breeze.

As advertised an excellent product... quite heavy duty and thus far no complaints. I got 2 for the greenhouse so I could mount them on the walls above watering levels and all is well.

I had wanted one of these for a long time.

This power multiplier allows for more flexibility when plugging in cords, and the best part is that you don't end up using multiple plug in when inserting ac adapters or large plugs.

Problems:

-bulky central connector, not as slim as it could be
-having the plug cords at all different lengths is not helpful to me in reality and makes it look disorganized
-overall look when things are plugged in it bulky and disorganized, I now have a sort of "heap" of cords rather than a nice neat row, even though it does the job I wanted it to do - I didn't think about how everything would look and how it would sit when I bought it
-5 plugs is really not enough for my needs, and I would have rather had 6-8, but this was at the price I wanted to pay

For what the product is, the quality is good and functionality is good if you are looking for flexibility, but I probably wont by another just from a neatness perspective.
