Bought this battery to replace the one in my Tripp-Lite Omni 1000, the one that Costco sold and that Tripp-Lite says cannot be replaced. It's the right size and orientation of the power connections, and I was able to carefully open the case (2 screws, one under the serial number label) using a long #2 phillips screwdriver. Don't touch any thing but the battery as there is residual current remaining in the other components. Probably the hardest thing was to keep the circuit board in it's grooves in the top and bottom halves of the plastic case when reassembling. They are very narrow and the wiring wants to pull the board out of position, which will make the usb socket misalign. Tripp-Lite did not design this particular model to be serviced by consumers and left out an isolated compartment for the battery to save money and allow Costco to sell it for less. In my opinion, these model modifications should be accompanied by a disclaimer so that customers realize they are buying a unit that is not like the other serviceable type of power interruption battery back-ups and thus be able to make a more informed purchasing decision. Bottom line is my power supply is up and running for 1/3 the cost of a new one.
