5.0 out of 5 stars POWER STONE GOES PORTABLE! January 2, 2007
By Blade
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
I received my PSP for Christmas and purchased the extra accesories the next day (e.g. the body armor and Media Manager program). I also got the chance to pick up this game and have enjoyed it since. After all, I absolutely LOVED the Dreamcast versions and wasn't in any way disappointed! This collection includes both Power Stone 1 & 2, which resembles the original game play, characters, and graphics--only smaller! You'll need to update your PSP to at least version 2.81 to play, but this is really no problem since it automatically does it for you (just make sure the battery is fully charged and that the PSP is plugged into a power outlet via the AC adaptor). The only downside I have with this game[s] is that the unlockable features (while good) are limited. Otherwise, for Power Stone fans, this is a must buy and at a very reasonable price!

5.0 out of 5 stars Power Stone Collection by Capcom September 27, 2007
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
I would definitely Power Stone Collection if you are interested in a constant melee action packed beat'em up game, or if your an old school Power Stone fan who use to own a Dream Cast like me, this game is for you. Power Stone Collection has a perfect port of Power Stone 1 & 2, graphically, and visually. Plus it has an exclusive collection gallery with art and music from Power Stone 1 & 2. The loading times can seem long, but you have to remember, it's a PSP, not a Dream Cast, so it will take awhile. The controls might seem kinda crazy at first, but you'll get use to it. Overall, I think that this game is Awesome!!!

Game play: Same as the original games and still amazing

Graphics: Still the same as the original, and still very good both a PSP and a Dream Cast

Controls: A bit odd at first, but then very easy.

Sound: Absolutely amazing for any fighting game out there.

Overall: A+

4.0 out of 5 stars Ah this brings back memories... November 15, 2006
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
Remember back in the day when you or a friend or someone you knew had a Dreamcast and they had either Power Stone 1 or Powerstone 2 or even both! Well all that is about to come back to you with both games jam packed into one disk. No worrying about having to try finding either games on Amazon or Ebay for over $100 for new editions only to find out that they're scratched. This is two games on one disk for almost 1/4th the price. No worries about if they've changed things around from the original game. They are no different from the games on the dreamcast with the exception of new weapons, which is a plus. Powerstone 1 focuses mainly on man on man combat while Powerstone 2 has the option to play with more than 2 players. The stages in Powerstone 1 are mainly just a cubical, basically the size of a McDonald's. While in Powerstone 2, since you have the capability to have more than two characters on screen at one time, the stages are much bigger and you are able to use more items in Powerstone 2. The only real two problems with the game is availability if you were going to buy it in a store. The other problem is the loading time. It takes at least a minute to load the game. Never would you see that for the original games on the dreamcast, for the dreamcast it would take less than 30 seconds to load the game. But after you load the game and actually get into it, then there really isn't any load times.

Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
Let me just get this part out of the way: The main reason I bought a PSP just so happens to be this game. I used to rock out on the Dreamcast version of Power Stone 2 with all of my friends throughout or high school days (all the way up to the release of Super Smash Bros.). I was incredibly excited to not only play one of the coolest, most original melee games but to also get a crack at its elusive predecessor. Having now played through both versions, I have a few simple complaints.

Load times are a drag. On a system as advanced as the PSP, playing a game that was designed two console generations ago should not take that much load time. I have no idea why it does, and it makes me sit there blankly watching a non interesting loading screen. . . Anger rises.

The lack of extras on this port is also rather annoying. I was not looking for a new character or anything so drastic as a new stage(although those additions would have been hella nice). Instead, I thought some more new weapons, a different mode of play, or even higher level of difficulty could have been added. Oh well.

The game is still sweet, even if you need three other systems and games to do the old school multiplayer that made it so great on the Dreamcast, and is a must have for anyone who enjoys a beat up brawler.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Collection that is rare. March 11, 2009

Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
After I found out that power stone was remade for the psp. I had to have that game because this is one of the greatest games from the 90s to have on a portable machine. I give it 5 stars for gameplay because its easy to get addicted to it. Not many classic capcom games are remade for the psp and fortunately this one is. I forgot how the cool items in the game makes it more funny for the players. Overall, I give it four stars because the graphics doesn't match up to the dreamcast port of powerstone. The music, fun factor, controls, and gameplay are a plus. I would recommend this game to any capcom fan today, and hopefully another classic game like this can be remade for the psp.
