If you are looking for a proper adapter for the models listed in the description, look elsewhere. This was a good replacement when my power adapter died on me. The price was perfect and it was delivered without a hitch. Problem is, when you open up the box, it's a universal adapter! And for the worst part, even though the Acer Aspire 5315 is listed as a compatible laptop, it doesn't fit! The connection is way loose and it craps out on you if you breathe the wrong way! Won't waste my money on this again! Next time, I'll have to read every review carefully! Buyer beware, loose connection and a very short cord = an inexpensive waste of money!

I wish I had read the reviews. I would not order this again. It has a short cord and is a generic adapter. Comes with various power adapters for different laptops.

The product works perfectly but no where does it state that you will get a basic cord with a hand full of adapters. I bought this when my other cord broke and was hoping to get one similar for a reasonable price, and by reading the description I had thought I had found it but when it arrived I found in the box the cord and about 7 adapters that you have to plug onto the tip of the cord this would be fine but if you plan on taking it anywhere its a hassle to have to keep track of an inch and a half (4CMs) adapter.

I got this AC Adapter last month for my Acer Aspire 5315. That said, unlike most of the reviews for this item saying that it was the wrong fit for the 5315 computer, It works perfectly. It has a long cord, charges really fast, and doesn't get as hot as the actual acer charger was. Another plus: it was dead cheap. It shipped on time, as well. I've had it a month and its still running fine!

I saw some reviews that talked about the fit being a little loose, and I didn't see my exact model number shown in the list of compatible models, but I took a chance and bought it anyway, due to the low price. It arrived, and was as described. There were no tips or adapters or any such complications. Just the power adapter as shown in the photo. And it fit my Acer Aspire 5740 perfectly, with no wiggling. It also has an LED indicator to show that it's connected to power, which is useful.

I thought I'd hit gold when I found this the first one I ordered came earlier than expected and it worked just fine. A month later the small metal or copper tube came loose from the plus that fits fits into the adapter. It would come out and get stuck inside of the adapter. So I ordered another one. Two weeks after I got it the same exact thing happened. I tried everything but neither cord will work anymore.

I'll keep it short and sweet. My original cord died, I got a new cheap one, it never worked right to begin with, it died, this one was even cheaper, it's still working 6 months later. So it's outlived my other cheap cord by 3 months and it's still kicking.

I bought a new AC power adapter for my Aspire 5920. In output socket the wire was disconnected in a couple days. Input power cord is very short and has not a ground.

The company aligned with Amazon called "westronics" has sent me this AC adapter in a timely manner. I was very careful to get the correct voltage and amperage for the Acer laptop it was needed for. This adapter has a faulty power plug. This faulty power plug has caused the laptop to be destroyed. I am fighting now with Amazon (who have been very good to work with) and westronics. I left email for westronice with a full description of the problem. I left feed back for them as well, but due to limited characters available did not include the voltage/amperage specifications. Here is their reply;

"This following problem may not be the shippers actual fault, but this issue is serious. The AC adaptor arrived quickly, but when plugged into the laptop it was for the laptop became instantly NON FUNCTIONAL. In other words... the item blew up the laptop. I'm currently trying to work with Amazon on some form of remediation. I would not chance a purchase from this seller again. "

They did NOT contact me for further information. They did NOT reply to my email sent to their contact numbers. This leaves this review as my only recourse.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH WESTRONICS.

This has a tip that is 5.5mm outside diameter; 1.7mm inside diameter.
Acer makes 4 tips for the 65W 19V 3.42A adapter.
all four have 5.5mm outside diameter.
But different indside diameter are 1.5mm, 1.7mm, 2.0mm, and 2.5mm. And who knows, there may be others.
So check your Acer model number carefully.
For example, my model is Acer Aspire 5100 which requires a 1.5mm inside diameter. This adapter is 1.7mm inside.
