I bought this for my Dell Inspiron 1525 because the official stock charger that originally came with the laptop stopped charging, but kept the laptop on as long as it was plugged in, but then eventually it just died all together. With the price, I knew that this was not an official Dell charger and I can't understand how people can feel like they were tricked into thinking it was one. With the amount of decent reviews for this item, I decided to get it because I needed it, since my laptop is my lifeline.

This charger shipped within the time they said it would. I, however, received it 2 days before I went on a month long vacation to another country so, it hasn't been used much yet.[*] As far as I can tell, this charger works; It charges the battery and keeps the power on, which is what I (and probably most of you) purchased it for. My laptop stays powered on almost all day and it's keeping it alive with no problems.

The part that sticks into the computer actually fits more snug in there than the official Dell one does. My charger has a 2 prong plug instead of 3 like someone else said, not that it really matters anyway since most outlets made within the last 30 years are compatible with 3 prong plugs.

One complained about the charger getting very hot while charging the battery, I haven't noticed it getting any warmer than the Dell charger, I actually think this charger runs cooler than the official since that one would get so hot I could barely hold onto it sometimes.

The only con I can really comment on is that the cord is a bit short, but I don't move my laptop around much so, it doesn't really effect me, but I can see how it could inconvenience others.

Some of the reviews stated that it stopped working after a few of weeks and since I haven't used it that long yet, I cannot comment on that, but if anything changes, I'll be sure to update you. [*]

I've owned this adapter for a year now and it is still working as good as the day I got it.

I bought this after my original dell ac adapter went bed after wear n tear and it works just as fine...only thing i didnt like about was that it had 3 prongs..but oh well i use a surger protector anyway so it was just fine.GREAT PRICE!!!!

The seller was fantastic, however the charging cord/power supply I ordered to replace my failed Inspiron 1525 OEM charger, was a complete waste of money. The replacement charger got extremely hot when in use, no matter if I was working on the computer or not. A mere 72 hours after receiving the item it had already failed. The wall plug, cords, power supply unit and computer side plug are all inferior materials to OEM. Please be aware this is not an OEM equal replacement. Thank you for quick shipping and good price, but not worth it as I am now going to have to get a replacement after all this again...

I've had this charger for a little over a week now, It does the job. It charges the Dell Inspirion 1525, the only thing I am concerned about is it gets very hot to the touch. I dont really wanna leave my laptop on sleep mode because I worry that if it gets too hot it could cause a problem. The center rectangle part just gets really hot, now I am not sure if the Dell charger did that or not, But I have surely noticed that this one does get hot. But I have had no problems with it so far & it does charge the battery. Took about a week for shipping. Which isnt bad shipping time, but when your living without your computer during that time, it seems like forever :)

such a crappy product. i had it for about 2 or 3 weeks. my laptop gave me a "plug in or computer will hibernate" alert, so i did. but then it shut down. only for me to realize that the charger wasnt charging... because it had melted and warped. it was plugged in for maybe an hour or so. but that shouldnt be a factor, considering i've had chargers which i've left plugged in under the exact same conditions for hours and hours. i was appalled at the risk which i was exposed to. dont buy this product. save your money and buy one with better quality, appropriate wattage and better reviews.

I purchased this power cord in Feb/2011. I read the reviews & contacted the seller with questions. Now 5 months later the power cord will not work. It lights up when plugged into the wall, but will not charge my Dell 1525 or my HP laptop. To top it off, I cannot, for unknown reasons, contact the seller again to see if it can be replaced. I would not reccommend this or the seller.

I ordered this product, and it came on time, but the problem was the battery would frequently get hot. I figured it wouldn't be a problem if I unplugged it every now and then, but then I decided to go out of the room for 30 minutes. When I come back, the battery IS DEAD AND SMELLS OF SMOKE. I thought after reading other reviews, hey, $10 for a few months isn't a horrible deal. But two days? Don't waste your time or money. Getting a refund is going to be a pain in the butt.

Didn't last three months. To begin with, it never provided enough amperage to even charge the battery. Every time I turn on the computer it says "we can't detect what power supply you're using, make sure it's 65w" then, the cabling on it tore to pieces and now the computer won't even turn on!

I'm buying a real OEM dell one now for 26 bucks, should have done that from the beginning instead of going cheap...

Based on the amount of positive reviews I ordered this item even though i was skeptical. Bad mistake! If you are looking for a power adaptor this is a good deal. If you are looking for a charger this is not it. My original charger for my Dell Inspiron 1520 is on its last leg after over 3 years so it will only charge the battery some of the time. This cheap knock off will not even charge the battery at all. When using it the battery status says plugged in not charging. Guess I will have to break down and buy a dell brand charger even though i dont want to put anymore money into my piece of junk Dell. I wish i had not ever purchased this charger or a Dell computer since neither are worth bringing home!

I got this in the mail and rushed to my room, i took it out of the package, unraveled it and unplugged my old cord. I quickly plugged this one into my DELL inspiron 1525 and pyaaaaaaaaaaaa. My battery icon on my computer sighed with relief with the refreshing taste of energy. It charged my computer faster than the original adapter, and like the other reviewers say it does seem to get really warm, but it does cool off when the battery reaches 100%. I would recommend this product.
