this power supply cord works perfectly and fits my computer with out any problems, just as it stated. It even looks exactly like the original.

However, the one and only draw back to it is the length of the cord is about 18" shorter and can be somewhat of an annoyance since the original cord was not very long to begin with.

So if you are looking for a good working cheap replacement like I was, then it works, but if you dont want to be so close to an electrical outlet, then maybe buy a more expensive one which might be longer.

I bought this because the power cord on my Dell Vostro 1505 stopped working (which seems to happen too often with Dell products) and the price of this generic replacement was certainly right. Although the price can't be beat, for my next purchase I am going a different route for two reasons:
- I was very disappointed in the length - six feet might sound long, but it is much shorter than the manufacturer's standard and I really was not able to use the cord without an extension cord (which I had to buy).
- The build quality was never great and now the cord has stopped working properly after about 3 months. Although it will still barely power the computer, I recieve error messages about the improper adapter, the battery will not charge at all using the adapter, and the computer runs very sluggishly. For the price, I didn't expect it to last very long, but it should hold out longer than 3 months.

If you are okay with a very short cord and only need to use it for a very short time, this might be a cost-effective way to go. Otherwise, you may want to look for a different replacement option.

I needed a replacement for my Vostro 1500 and didn't want to spend $60, so I bought these. I was praying that it wouldn't blow up on me or burn out but it's still going and works. Cable is a shorter than the original but I know that when I purchased this.

I don't remember now what the picture looked like when I bought this item--maybe they've changed it. The power supply I received is a bit bulkier than the one shown in the current picture. But it works just fine. I'm satisfied.

I ordered these a month ago. We're using them on a Vostro 1000 and two Dell Studios. Mine's a 1537, I don't know what my other friend's Dell Studio model # is. It works on all three, and they've been working for a month.

A friend ordered a $40 power cord somewhere else, and it's EXACTLY like this one. We were laughing. She's going to return her $40 cord and order this one.

As other reviewers have noted, this only puts out 65W - the Vostro 1500 requires 95W. The unit gets extremely hot when you try to charge the Vostro with it.

My Dell Vostro 1500 laptop purchased about 2 years ago recently started giving me a 'plugged in not charging' error. Also, when you first cut the laptop on, it would beep and give a message about how the ac adapter wasn't a real Dell ac adapter, and how it wouldn't charge the battery (despite being the official Dell ac adapter shipped with the laptop). After trying all sorts of things, I figured the ac adapter had gone bad (or bad enough to the point of only using it on an outlet... completely defeating the purpose of a laptop) so I purchased this ac adapter. I have to say that I'm truly impressed. I ordered Friday morning and received it Monday afternoon. The cord is a bit on the short side, but it charges my battery, and got rid of the pesky 'your ac adapter isn't made by dell and won't charge your battery' message too. Once again, very pleased with the product, the price and the shipping time.

Will not charge a Vostro 1500 which needs a 90W adapter... Also I could not get it to charge an Inspiron 1505 or 1545 which use a 65W adapter. A bad purchase.

If your laptop charger goes bad, please guy a generic one. I made the mistake of purchasing an "official" laptop charger direct from the company for $50 bucks. Well it went bad after about a year. I guess that's what laptop chargers do, they go bad after about a year. I'm expecting this one too as well. When it does I'll spend another $8 and get another generic one.

The only difference between this charger and the "official" Dell charger is this one has no logo, and the "official" Dell charger says "DELL" on it. Not a $42 difference in my opinion.

I have a Dell Vostro 1400 and this power cord didn't work for me. The green light on the adapter itself lit up when it was plugged in, but my laptop didn't recognize it. It might work for other machines, but I wouldn't suggest this if you have a Vostro 1400.
