Great Swim Aid,

This review is from: Swimways Power Swimr System - Small (Toy)
The Swim Trainer is an easy on easy off swimming aid that the child steps into and then velcros at the shoulders and tightens on the sides. The front and back pouch have 9 remomovable bouyancy pads that can be taken out (without the child even knowing) as the childs swimming ability increases. This is a great learning to swim tool. Both my children have used it since they were about 20 months old and it has been a total success with building their confidence in the water. My youngest who is 2 and weighs about 24 lbs had some trouble with balancing and was tipping over. We remedied this problem by removing one of the 9 removalble pads in the front of the trainer and never had another problem. Another bonus with this swim trainer is that the children have free movement of their arms (unlike floaties) so they learn to paddle. I would recommend this to anyone with a child learning to swim.

Great for the pool!,

= Durability:4.0 out of 5 stars = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars = Educational:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Swimways Power Swimr System - Small (Toy)
We started my son with a swim sweater(tube) when he was 2, graduated to the small litte swimmer (yellow) when he was 3, the medium (green)little swimmer at 4. He's 5 now and can swim without the device. The motions he used with the swimmer to get around the pool taught him to swim without lessons. He still can't touch the bottom of the pool, but he's got the large swimmer (purple) so he can play longer in the pool without getting tired. The little swimmer requires some upper body strength so if your tike is having problems keeping upright, start with the swim sweater. The tube is under the child's arms and sits higher in the water.

Works painfully well,
By A Customer
This review is from: Swimways Power Swimr System - Small (Toy)
I bought a couple of these last summer for my (then) 4 and 8 year old sons. They are on the slim side and had no trouble keeping the device on. They both felt comfortable in the pool and even released their terror grip from my shoulders. The MAIN PROBLEM is the chaffing. Since the device is meant to float, it goes with gravity and goes up. This causes the straps on the side to bunch up under the armpits and rub the skin raw. It works but is painful by the end of the day.
