Great workout for the quads (thighs), hip flexors, and the lower abs. Great for all the core muscles too! If you roll over on your stomach it works great as a leg curl for the hamstrings. You could also use this to work the hip adductors and abductors (inner thigh and outer hip). I didn't purchase this item for the main intent to increase speed, but I'm sure it is possible due to all the different ways it works so many muscles.
