4.0 out of 5 stars pleased with results from the stick
Marathon Stick, Body Building & Fitness, Senior & Youth Fitness
I have found this a valuable tool. I have both hamstring and calf muscle problems. I am a long time runner. I use this before and after my runs and have found a reduction in muscular problems.

2.0 out of 5 stars What's the big deal?
My wife and I are both health professionals. We plan to give our Stick away, because we can't see what all the cheering and shouting is about.

I used it once to roll out my quadriceps, and I thought the Stick was going to snap in two if I tried to apply enough pressure to get some benefit. As it was, I could barely feel it, but the Stick looked like 90°...

Although skeptical at first, I've found 'The Stick' to be a very versatile massage tool. It works great on all areas of the legs (shins, calves, quads, hamstrings, IT bands) as well as your shoulders/back/neck.

This stick was a recent replacement for my older one which broke when my daughter thought it was used for testing the strength of arm muscles, She snapped it in half. I have had my Travel Stick for many years and I do use it every other day.

I'm not a good stretcher - I prefer to lace up and start running. The Stick gives me an easy way to really get my muscles stretched before I run and again after I'm finished. Using it for an added tool during physical therapy right now so I can keep the "treatment" going on days I don't go to the professional. It's great - really recommend this one! Had a friend tell me about it months ago and I procrastinated.... glad I finally made the purchase!

I am a runner who was looking for some tool to help self massage my legs because of problems I was experiencing. I saw a reference to TheStick online and decided to give it a try. The price was right, so the risk was low. I am very happy with my purchase. This is a quality tool. It has been very helpful to me in managing my leg problems from my running. It helps work the knots out of your muscles, so you are ready to run the next day. Great product.

5.0 out of 5 stars Crucial Post Run Therapy, December 10, 2009

A friend of mine who is a personal trainer and the mother of a collegiate runner suggested I get a marathon stick when I complained of leg pain after my runs. This is simply the best piece of running gear I own. It's solidly constructed and designed to get at those sore post-run muscles. The fact that the user determines just how much pressure is applied gets rid of unintentional ouches.

Use this massager before and after a run to help facilitate muscle recovery.

Good for relaxing muscles after cross training too!

5.0 out of 5 stars More handy than a foam roller, March 24, 2011

The stick is just what I hoped it would be - a handy substitute for my trusty foam roller. It won't be replacing my foam roller, as it seems that sometimes I just can't get as deep a massage with the Stick. However, I have an easier time pinpointing areas of concern with the Stick, and it's much less hassle to grab the stick and roll out my calves than to lug out the big roller and make space on the floor. As such, I'm using the Stick more often throughout the day, rather than just foam rolling once a day after my run. I'm happy with my purchase! It will also be nice to stick the Stick in my suitcase when traveling. Try that with a foam roller!

4.0 out of 5 stars I likr this thing but it hurts, July 14, 2010

It seems to do what it is made for - can hurt a bit but I think it has to to work. Seem well made and used properly it should last. The direction are OK but a second set with more detail would be nice.
