The Power Toefl CDROM deluxe has content but the software is too poor to make this purchase worth. First, this software doesn't work well with Windows 2000. The sound files necessary for the listening comprehension part are not supported. Run it on Win 95 or 98. Second, the instructions provided are not accurate and some of the most important ones are missing, e.g. you have to type "q" at the very end of a test to know your score. And do not miss the screen at which you can do it, otherwise, you simply can't get your score!!! Finally, there is no way you can come back to a previous screen. This is normal for the test part itself but should be an option provided in the introductory part. You have to stop the program if you missed a click!!! In a nutshell, this software looks very much like what a total beginner in programming would be able to produce. The content is allright but there are better bargains available.

The teacher in my TOEFL class use this cdrom and workbook as the only material in our TOEFL class. I like it so much I bought copy for myself. The questions on the cdrom are very good, and the workbook divide all listening, grammar, and reading question into category to make very easy to study. For example, the cdrom and workbook show 14 different type of simple and complex sentence that are in grammar part. And it is so easy to use the cdrom. The handbook come with it is not need. Just follow the direction of the screen. You can take test and click on result screen to see your result. The result tell you which mistakes you make and give long explanations of wrong answers. Or you can stop anywhere during test and click on "See Results" to look in your answers and the expanations. And they are so many test--over 100 grammar tests. Anyway, after use this cdrom my CBTTOEFL score went up over 120 points. I gave it to my friend in my country and the same thing happened.

I think this TOEFL CDROM is very good because it has so many sample question. Also, I already took the TOEFL CBT one time, and the format of this cdrom is exactly the same as real test. Other thing I like are the workbook that comes with it has so many examples and really long reading section. But best thing is listening section which has long hard minitalks like real test.
