5.0 out of 5 stars A Definate Must Have CD For Godhead Fans
I have to admit, I almost didn't buy this CD. I was almost dissuaded by some pretty bad reviews. I'm so glad that I got it anyway, it's one of a kind. Does it ever annoy you when you really like a band and all of their music on every CD sounds the same? Godhead is one of the rare bands that has managed to have a unique and wonderful sound on each album. The songs...

3.0 out of 5 stars Solid release.
Being a part of the audience during Manson's Guns, God, and Government tour led to purchases 2 albums from both the opening acts, one being The Union Underground and the other being Godhead. After giving 2000 years a listen I went and purchased this older release. Power Tool Stigmata has it's peaks and gutters of both good, bad and even unique efforts, but, other than...

The songs have a beautiful mixture of programming and guitar, and Jason's voice completes it. The instrumental songs are amazing, the Method shows what he truly can do on Laura's Theme. 2000 Years of Human Error was good, but this is raw Godhead. Godhead without the help of Marilyn Manson, Twiggy, and Reeves Gabriel. All of the bass and programming by the Method, instead of having a guest artist, same thing with the guitar and Mike. If you buy this CD, you will definately get your money's worth out of it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dark, driven, perfect., August 28, 1999

I too saw Godhead in concert, when they opened for GWAR in Seattle. In spite of the fact that the crowd gave them a negative outpouring, they were awesome. I was most impressed, and bought their album a week later. While the CD can't reinact their powerful stage performance (if only you knew), it will enhance the atmosphere every time you play it. Buy it. Listen to "Penetrate" during you know what...

Being a part of the audience during Manson's Guns, God, and Government tour led to purchases 2 albums from both the opening acts, one being The Union Underground and the other being Godhead. After giving 2000 years a listen I went and purchased this older release. Power Tool Stigmata has it's peaks and gutters of both good, bad and even unique efforts, but, other than being a solid studio band, Godhead is clearly in their prime when on stage in front of the people. Their live show alone makes them worth mentioning.

3.0 out of 5 stars major let down, January 7, 2002

I am also a huge fan of Godhead, but not as big of one as I thought when I had recentluy purchased this CD. I first bought 2000 Years of Human Error and realized this band was great! The combination of techno and goth has never sound better so then I decided to buy the previous album of Power Tool Stigmata. I was gravely dissapointed.
Almost none of the songs are memorable, as they all keep the same beat in all the tracks. It's all the same on each song as though the whole album is a continuous song. There's no difference in the pitch of vocals by Jason Miller and his voice sounds much more professional in Human Error album. The Method's mixing job was also better in Human Error.
In both CD's they also share the same songs Eleanor Rigby and Penetrate, but don't be confused, both songs are different on the albums but Stigmata's songs seemed revoled around the rythm and beats of the tracks instead of the well-polished tunes which I hope will stay with the band.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying the album is god-awfully terrible, it's just alot more primitive than what they can do now. For those recently big fans of Godhead's, 2000 Years of Human Error, don't be ashamed to pass their previous titles up.

This cd is a must have for any music lover. Listening to it is an emotional rollar coaster, so if you are in a bad mood you can put this cd on and feel exactly where Jason's lyrics are coming from, Or if you need some good music for a party this cd is a winner. Just buy it you will not be dissapointted in any way. And I highly recomend seeing them live their performance is very powerful

I'm not really into "new" groups but godhead just blew me away when I saw them in concert with GWAR and the cd is even better. I love their remake of Eleanor Rigby. godhead kicks a$$.

4.0 out of 5 stars HEY ORGY, DEADSY, NUMAN, MANSON, NIN FANS!, December 11, 2000
This review is from: Power Tool Stigmata (Audio CD)
I got this album on the strength of a track on the Blair Witch 2 soundtrack (The Reckoning not featured here) and was well stoked I did. For once we find an industrial-goth band with a singer who can actually sing! The album starts off with GIMP which has good lyrics (another rarity in industrial music!) and an almost Moby-ish, Portishead vibe to it although in a much more aggressive manner. They do a cover of the Beatles ELEANOR RIGBY which although faithful to the original is much better than your average 'lets-do-a-cover-and-have-a-hit-single' a la Orgy, Disturbed etc. LAURA'S THEME reeks of Depeche Mode in full orchestral swing and for some reason I get the feeling there's a Twin Peaks connection! Sadly it's an instrumental which I'm sure could have benefited from vocals (Trent did it with SOMETHING I CAN NEVER HAVE!) and it's not as though the vocalist isn't up to the task. But then again it does work suberbly as an interlude before the full-on (and I do mean full-on) techno-metal of LIES. Imagine KMFDM/MINISTRY with better vocals and your halfway there. Anyway I'm raving now - just buy the [...] thing!

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful Step Forward, January 12, 2012
This review is from: Power Tool Stigmata (Audio CD)
Miller pushed down the rage on this release in favor of more industrial, dark soundscapes (check out "F***ed Up" and "Laura's Theme") and the results were spectacular. However, there's still plenty of noisy guitars for fans of the band's first release (how about "Lies"?). Check it out if you're more into the industrial side of industrial metal.

5.0 out of 5 stars If you like Nine Inch Nails to meet Tool...., March 29, 2005
This review is from: Power Tool Stigmata (Audio CD)
This is the first Godhead CD I bought, I think it's awesome. I really would recommend it if you like "Nine Inch Nails" and possibly "Tool" or "Perfect Circle". It certainly has those types of flavors in the songs.
