What fun for my daughter! She is almost two and rearin' to go. She can't wait to hop on this ride and drive on her own. Careful though, you don't need to buy a battery or charger. Both of these come with the go cart. Forget accessories. It comes ready to go!

We bought the go-kart for our son's first birthday. Assembly was quick and easy, with easy-to-follow instructions. It took a little time for our son to get the hang of driving it, we had to show him a few times. Since then, he loves driving around on it and being so independent. A wonderful product!!

It's a great way for a younger brother to get a Power Wheel to keep up with his older sister. Beware the website suggests the battery and charger as accessories when in fact they are included with the go-kart, which makes it an even better buy!

We purchased this go cart for our son in Dec. 2002 as a Christmas gift. He was just shy of his 2nd birthday and was extremely anxious to ride! He is just about 3 now and still LOVES to ride his go cart around the yard. Yes, it only does 2 mph and I wish it was faster but he enjoys it! BEWARE!!!! They recommend the extra battery and charger (which we purchased) but they DO NOT fit into this go cart!!! Unfortunately they are still advertising it on the website. We wanted to have an extra battery to use while we were charging the one that came with the go cart. Anyway, he learned how to steer superbly by using this go cart, again, just under the age of 2!! I highly recommend!

How cute is this car? Very cute our son is the talk of the neighborhood. When we first put him in it, he sat there grinning for about half an hour, then spent the rest of the time grinning on the go. If we take him out he tries to climb back in but can't get past the steering wheel.
When looking for a main gift for our sons first birthday, battery powered cars was the first category I looked into, there where a few options all of which were made by power wheels, if I remember correctly. It was between the Lil Kawasaki, Lil, Quad and of course the get set & go kart. We went with the get set and go kart because it was low to the ground and has a seat belt. Parents if you think this seat belt is going to potentially save your child's life its not. Its nothing more than a shoe lace with Velcro. My 1 year and 1 day old son is constantly unstrapping himself and climbing out. It goes 2 miles per hour. Which is a nice pace for this age group. When I saw 2 miles per hour, on the box I wasn't impressed but it's for a 1 year old what do you want? Upon putting it together (easy as 1 2 3) and testing it out 2 mph was faster than I expected. The ignition button, if you want to call it that, is stiff, and hard for his little fingers to push down. Luckily enough he has younger cousins that are old enough to push it for him, and run around by his side while holding down the button. The wheels are plastic and are already starting to look worn out he's only been in it for a few hours. Overall I love the car. My son doesn't like to be in a stroller, play pen, or anything where he isn't free to run around, but he'll sit in the car literally all day. When BBQing it was a life saver, because he wasn't fussy because he didn't feel restrained, and I wasn't worrying about him getting hurt from the grill. Two things I would improve on this toy, would be the ignition button. I would make it a little less stiff. It they want to set the age range for a 1 year old they need to make it for a one year old. I would also make the seat belt secure. Like a stroller seat belt, or something to that affect. Other than that I give it 5 stars.

My son started riding his go cart by himself at approximately 14 months old. It is super simple for toddlers because there are no pedals- a simple push of the button on the steering wheel will get them moving. The only con I have is that is it small..they will grow out of this quickly. It is hard for them to get in and out due to the steering wheel. I don't forsee any four year old being able to ride in this. The perfect age would be 14 months to 2 1/2 at the most. My son is almost two now - he still enjoys it.. but he will ride the bigger jeep power wheels more often than this one.

We bought this for my son's first birthday and he fit in it perfectly. He rode around in the house ok, but you need a wide area to turn around so he rammed the walls often. He will be 2 in july and he can no longer fit. His feet hang over unless he bends his legs til they hit the steering wheel, and he doesn't have room to press the buttons, but if your child is average sized or smaller this is a great toy, unfortunatly we used it less than 1 year and now have to upgrade to something else.

We bought this go-cart for my son Christmas 2003 (he was 17months). He's now 2. He does love this car but you do need a very large amount of space in order for them to be able to turn it well. The battery last a couple of days if you're on cement. But only one day if your driving on grass. Which is usually what we do, because if we go to the park he has plenty of space to maneuver it around. He gets very frustrated when he can't turn because of lack of space. And this thing is small, it just doesn't turn well. I do not know what possessed Toys R Us to say that kids up to age 4 can fit in this. Yeah right. My husband and I are talking about buying our son a Jeep this Christmas. But for only $100 We'll get a lot out of it in one year and it will get handed down to my nephew. I will say it is very durable. My son has crashed into trees, the dogs, and the house!! It's a good buy, worth the $100, but only expect your child to fit in it for about a year!!

We bought this for our son's first birthday and he still really enjoys it. It is low to the ground and easy to get in and out of. I appreciate the slow speed (I'm an ER nurse, I don't want to spend my day off at work!). It moves well in the house, on the driveway and across the grass. It has fun sound effects and was easy to learn how to operate. I think it was a reasonable price and I can't wait for the weather to warm up so we can go outside again (furniture has taken a beating).

That's why my 2 year old nephew does when he sees it now. It's slow (2mph) and dull. Only goes 2mph or 0, no in between. Initially he loved it, then the second day came. Currently I'm researching a motor upgrade so that my money would not have gone to waste. Unless you're an uptight overly protective mother don't buy this. |
