NOTE: I found this description is WRONG. The SD4500 is a 3.5Volt battery, NOT 3.6. I called J&J to have them verify there description and the noob there just said "Our site must be correct"... I then asked the other reviewer on this product and he confirmed the writing on the battery is 3.5, I again can verify this is 3.5Volt.It WILL 100% work with: Canon PowerShot SD4500IS 10 MP Digital Camera with 10x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom and 3.0-Inch LCD, Brown, it charges in the charger that comes with the camera also.

I got this from J&R Music, they where terrible at telling me when it shipped (this is NOT amazon's fault, actually Amazon sent me a email saying they had not gotten notification from J&R Music about it shipping) but I did end up getting it inside of 1.5 weeks of ordering it.

Pros:
Last MUCH longer, this is seat of the pants review I did nothing scientific to say it lasts longer other then I use this Camera 90% video 10% stills (I use my XTI DSLR for stills). I took all of Xmas this year on one charge of this battery and it still have life left (I had 30 minutes of video that day).

Neutral:
I can not say if its the camera or the battery but on Xmas the camera in the area of the battery got EXTREMELY hot after doing all that video. I will try to do the same with the Canon battery, personally I think its the battery as it discharged for that long of a period got hot, but again nothing to prove this.

Recommendation:
I will be buying a second one in the next month as a backup to this one for long recording sessions.

1200mAh is much higher than the 870mAh canon sd4500is brings. So the usefulness of the battery is double. I shoot half hour of video and watched it twice on tv .The load of the battery was even full I recommend his purchase

Bought 2 of these for my power hungry Canon SD4500IS - the first 2 arrived and one would not charge, completely dead on arrival! Returned to Amazon for refund, then used refund to buy another one. New one arrived - promptly died 2 months later after only 3 charges! When I say died, I mean will not turn on camera, but says it is fully charged when placed in charger. No longer elegible for Amazon's return and it cost more to ship it than it does to buy it... going to find an alternative as these ones are very unreliable. Stay away from these batteries!

It is almost identical to the orginal one, only difference is there is no official CANON logo on it.
It works in the charger and takes the same time to charge. You get the same amount of photos with it (and same quality ones.)
I recommand gettign it.

I have always ordered Canon's batteries for spares for my cameras. When I first bought my SD4500, the Canon NB-9L were new and so expensive, I thought I would take a chance on this. It is much better than the battery that came with the camera. The Canon battery didn't hold a charge nearly as long. This doesn't last forever, but it lasts more than half a day. I have two of these now for travel, and I leave the Canon battery home.

FALSE ADVERTISING - The battery pictured clearly says 1200mAh and the one they sent me is labeled 870mAh. The MAIN reason I chose this battery was because with the higher claimed mAh it should last longer than the standard Canon battery.

Bought two for vacation. They do not last near as long as the original Canon battery. Ok for a backup or to finish out a day.

Battery works well with my Canon SD4500. It lasts longer than the original. I haven't timed anything, but I'd say it lasts about twice as long, or nearly. This is very nice, since the original battery didn't last long at all. It's also not great, since lasting longer than the original battery is no great feat.

I keep the original battery fully charged and in the camera case as back-up. This works out pretty well, and almost makes up for the fact that Canon somehow managed to create a battery that barely lives up to it's appointed task.

UPDATE: In less than a year, maybe 8 months, the battery started to hold very little charge and would only last for maybe 50 photos or 20-30 minutes of video recording. But at it's current price ($8) I'd say it's still worth it. You could get a couple for backups. I had bought it for around $20 I think, and I can't say it was worth it.
