I am an endurance athlete who does long distance events. Powerbars are a staple of my pre and post-workout fueling regime. They are calorie dense (250 per bar) and combine protein and carbs (40 g. carbs, 8g protein) which the current research says is most optimal for performance. You are feel "full" during your training without discomfort or cramps. Plus, I just like the way they taste, but they all taste similar. Avoid the berry varieties and fruit flavors:) The downside of the bars is that they are not for "on the run"--they are rather chewy and need to be well digested. They also get hard in the cold, so do not bring with you on runs in the winter:)
Dieters, beware: these bars are not for weightloss, but performance. 250 calories is about the equivalent amount of calories in a donut, so make sure you're working out, too:)

Disappointed. Did not expect to receive expired product from Amazon. PowerBar food product arrived with product expiraton date four (4) months expired. Am returning product to Amazon. As usual, with Prime, shipping was fast and returns are easy (but irritating). From now on I'll consider non-food items only. PowerBar product is good, when fresh.

I bought the cookie N cream energy bar. I work out about 6 hours a day. This bar really help me get through my workouts but I definitely drink a lot just to get the bar in me. Without water, I CAN NOT get it in no matter how hard I try. The "cookie" just gets stuck in my throat. It doesn't taste like cookie but some black solid dots. Without water this bar taste like sugary mud. If you are someone who value energy over taste, then this bar is definitely a 5 star but to me, the taste and texture really dropped a star for me.

Power Bars have always been my favorite, especially the Peanut Butter flavored. Formerly an avid runner (prior to back injury), I can attest that power bars are about the only thing you can eat during a long-distance run that will not reduce your performance. In fact, power bars were designed to boost your enery with just the right amount of vitamins. You can also eat a power bar as a meal replacement. All other brands are wanna-be copies & do not live up to Power Bar's reputation.

Power bars seam to be working for me. Have them at work to start the day. Better to start with this, than the $4.00 cup of Starbucks.

It's a shame that all the nutritional benefits of this bar went to waste on me because I couldn't even stomach the darn thing. It's literally just a block of chewy mush with the sharpness of dark chocolate. There were even some random chunks of who knows what stuck in there. I've tried the creamy citrus flavor as well, and that I could at least get down.

I purchased these as a gift for my brother and he loved them. As always PowerBar products taste great, give lots of energy for working out, would buy again! Great price & so convenient buying in bulk!

Best buy and price for powerbars. Flavor is just like an oatmeal cookie. Great pre-workout snack with some water. Good for runners and high enurance athletes. High in carbs and a good amount of protein.

I ordered two boxes, to reach the level of free shipping, to be sent to my son who is a freshman in college living in a dorm room. He loves them and they are a great snack any time of day, or for late night studies!

i've had a lot of powerbars and energy snacks and this is one of the better tasting powerbar flavors. great purchase!
