Finding a good gpu under $200, I thought, would be a pain, I was completely incorrect. This is an amazing card for mid range gaming setup. It is also the smallest r9 270 I could find which allowed me to build in the cooler master elite 110 case, one of the smaller m-itx cases on the market. Awesome performance, tiny (actually smaller than some nvidia 75o models) and I have not seen it get above 35 degrees ever which is awesome for any card

I got this card on sale plus thirty dollar rebate plus three free games. You need to look around for the deal which came out to less than one hundred bucks plus one hundred and fifty dollars of free games. I kept the games, Mom got the card for her new rig today. Mom has only had the card one day so this is not a review about longevity, only about initial experiences installing and testing. That said, this is may be the best card I have worked with to date (been a gamer since 1990).

INSTALLATION, super easy. This card is shorter than other r9 270 cards so it is easier to install in most cases.

DRIVER SETUP, super easy. There was none. My Mother's new rig is windows 8.1. This card was instantly recognized, and new drivers downloaded. One minute later is was pushing a 4K monitor at full resolution and 60HZ off its Display Port. My DUAL GTX480 SLI setup can't do that.

CAPABILTY, impressive, best for the money I have found. I was playing RAGE in medium-low settings on 3840X2160@60hz, the native resolution of the U28D590D to which it is attached via DP. To be sure, the game output was not perfect, there were momentary artifacts at the edges of the screen caused by mousing left and right quickly. But we are talking 4X 1080p resolution here and the game was certainly very playable and likable. As long as there are no issues in the future, this was a great find.

OVERALL, if you can find the same deal I found, there is no other card that can touch this one. So unless you are a gamer that needs absolute top-notch, this could be the card for you.

If I have any problems I will update the posting but for now, five stars and very impressed.

Hail Flavius!

Although this isn't the fastest R9 card, it has the shortest PCB (19.8cm) that I could find with this much horsepower. I'm building a small rig into a Cooler Master Elite 110 and the space allowed for the GPU is fairly short at 21cm. As it is, the PCIe connector of this card sticks out the side (as opposed to the back) and will require some yoga practice before getting everything plugged in.

As far as performance, it meets my requirements as my HDTV is only 720p (plasma-600Hz).
I don't expect to be blown away by it's performance, since I'm a casual gamer. 60fps would be nice, however:
Unigine Valley - ExtremeHD - 1080p/Ultra/vSync OFF/AA-AF OFF - 1279 (30fps)
Unigine Valley - HD - 1080p/Medium/vSync OFF/AA-AF OFF - 1482 (35fps)
Unigine Valley - HD - 720p/Medium/vSync OFF/AA-AF OFF - 1505 (36fps)

Linux has AMD drivers (and I have them installed) but usually the optimizations for newer apps/games aren't included in Linux until the game is practically old news. I did NOT overclock this card. In fact, the overclock settings for my 7770 may have been retained and actually lowered the scores a bit since the Memory clock is much faster on this card than the 7770. The new rig will be with the Pentium G3258 and Windows7, so I anticipate better scores on that platform than my A10-6800K. (If you haven't seen what the G3258 can do, check out Linus Tech Tips on YouTube)

Anyway, I'm pleased with my purchase given the constraints of my project.

It arrived DOA, so I really can't say anything nice about it.

Amazon was great and the return process was expedient.

I purchased an MSI R9 270x Gaming ITX, and it is working flawlessly. I'd say spend the extra money to get something from a more reputable brand. The extra features of the MSI card are quite nice.
