I have an HTC thunderbolt and bought this because my car cigarette lighter went out and I use my phone so much at school for recording it wouldn't last. This thing can charge my phone from dead almost two times. Plenty enough for me. It's thin and sleek and has a really bright light if needed. And it comes with some handy adapters. My only complaint is that it didn't come with its own charger. But if you have a wall charger with a usb adapter, you are good. Much better than getting the extended bat
tery for my phone and jacking up the signal, case, and weight. Plus you have backup for any device.
Update: November 8th 2011 ; about two months into having this product, the spot where you charge the device broke off the chipset. Will update again if I can get this resolved.

I purchased this item to give me the extra charge I need sometimes when out. The Thunderbolt is already a heavy phone and the idea of adding the extra heavy extended battery to it just was not going to work for me. I like to keep my phones as slim as I can and this item allows me to do that. I used it this past weekend when the TBolt got down to 30% and the pack recharged it back to 100% within 3 hours even while I was still using it. So for me it worked outstandingly with no issues thus far. The pack also did not run hot while it was charging up the phone which is a definite plus. So for me this purchase was a definite best buy and something that I would definitely recommend to others as a valid option over the extended battery.

Just got the 2900mAh Power Pack, so cool and sleek! Great for iPhone and Android!

I have an HTC Inspire phone, which is a real power hog saddled with a small battery. I have to recharge the phone a lot and I needed a solution to use when conventional charging was not available. I used to carry an extra battery for the phone but lost it in the dark at a concert when changing it out. I feel lucky that I also didn't lose the phone's battery cover, which is hard to deal with in any environment. I replaced the extra battery solution with this.

This is a quality unit. It comes with a usb cable used for both input and output charging. For output charging to other devices it has a micro-usb connector for the phone plus two other connectors (one connector fits my Sansa mp3 player, for example).

In addition to the external cable, this unit comes with a built-in micro-usb connector with a short cable that is really handy. So carrying an extra cable is not necessary if I am charging something that uses the micro-usb connector, like my phone. The unit has a button that displays the amount of reserve power on hand. My girlfriend and I have used it to recharge both of our phones quickly, one after the other, with reserve power left over. This unit is small and light and easily fits in my pocket or in her purse. It works well for us and I recommend it.

This is exactly what I was looking for, a simple, effective, universal charger with a clean simple design. It "gets charged" via a female micro USB port and it "gives charge" to any external device via a built in retractable male micro USB wire and adapter. It also "gives charge" via other adapters, but you then need to use and external wire and insert the proper adapter.

I don't use any of the other adapters to "give charge" to any device outlets other than micro usb, however, I am only giving this device 4 stars instead of 5 because the manufacturer made a very poor design choice when selecting an external "gives charge" cable. IT uses a custom external cable with multiple adapters for "giving charge" in other power formats. The manufacturer should have used a standard micro USB cord and then have the custom adapters work with a standard micro USB cord. Then the included cable could be used to "get charge" as well "giving charge". Currently, you have to provide your own micro USB cord to "get charge" for the mobile juice pack.

Exceed my expectation at this price, very good capacity, I can charge my HTC inspire for nearly two times.

Very slim and portable design! I particularly like the built in micro USB design, a very convenient design that unlike many other mobile power pack that require you to carry a USB cable.

When i received this item, it worked wonderfully for a few days, but very quickly stopped holding a full charge. At this time, after a few weeks of daily use, it is isn't even charging to 50% (based on the indicator lights). I'm gonna try to return it, because while a little extra battery is better than no extra battery, this is not living up to it's description!

I have an HTC EVO and let's say it doesn't have the best battery life. I have a USB charger at home, at work, and in my car. And yet, there are times when I still need to charge my phone. It doesn't happen often, but that's why it's called an Emergency Charger. It has enough juice to charge my phone all the way to 100% from 25% battery life. Unfortunately, I didnt time it since I went to sleep. I was just testing to see if it had enough juice to charge my power hungry EVO.

Things to note:

1. There is a micro-USB adapter built in. No extra cords to bring with you.
2. It can charge an Iphone/Ipad with the included adapter and can charge mini-USB devices.
3. It is the size of a small, slim cell phone.
4. It has an LED light. I guess since it's an emergency charger...lol.
5. It has a charge indicator in increments of 25%. So you know how much juice is left or how much more to charge the device.

It does what it says it does...and looks pretty sleek to boot.

I bought the PowerGen over the New Trent mainly due to the compact size. This charger is very easy to slip in your pocket -- thin and small (4" x 2" x .4"). With the attached micro-USB connector, which slips inside a little compartment on the phone, there is no need to carry any extra wires or anything and you can put both the charger and your phone in your pocket while it is charging. For my HTC Evo Shift, I get 1 full charge and 3/4 of a second charge. For the size an portability, it is great if you will be away from an outlet all day. I plan to also get the larger capacity charger (5200) for when I don't need something quite as portable.

I lost the micro-USB tip/connector, and emailed the company and they are sending me a replacement free of charge, so I would say the customer service is pretty good. Wish you could buy connectors separately, and these may be compatible with other universal charge cords which you can buy for less than $8.

I am not a huge fan of this product. I have been searching for a good battery pack for extra battery power. Thought I would try this one out, but was disappointed. It is not very easy to use and understand the status of the battery. It is about the size of an iphone, so it is small and portable. Frankly, these types of products are hard to review because they do what they say, it is just the finished product is not as good as I had hoped - maybe just high standards. One worth noting is this 2900ma battery pack does not seem to be a true 2900ma. It was completely dead after one iphone charge. So, i would have given 4 stars, but the lack of performance cost another star.
