Much more comfortable than the darn chest strap!,

The Power Glove is a great replacement if you hate wearing a chest strap. They always hurt my chest so when I saw this I ordered it and I am glad I did. This is so much easier to wear when I go for my walks or do the stair stepper.

This product needs some work. The buttons are too close together (and no, i don't have fat fingers) - it's very easy to push the wrong one. Which might just take you into a complex menu that's not easy to get out of! The pixels on the display are ridiculously large - i had to purposefully blur my eyes to decipher the numbers. It kind of seems like someone's invention prototype that they fashioned in their garage. The stitching was partially unraveled (is this what "stitching may vary" means? It wasn't the colored stitching....) on the velcro strap used to hold the thumb sensor.
And yet I was still optimistic! I glued the velcro strap, got used to the buttons and the display, and i actually loved it for the first dozen uses or so. And then it stopped working... Every time the main part (that wraps around your hand) was moved even in the minutest way, the unit would somehow reset itself, the display boldly announcing the product name and then informing me that all of its stored information had been reset. I was so sad! So much so, that i bought another one, thinking i'd just ended up with a dud. But the 2nd one also stopped working after only a few uses. It just suddenly displayed 3 vertical lines, and wouldn't turn off. The only thing that ever worked well on this thing was the actual heart rate sensor, which i found to be quite accurate. Luckily, Amazon is giving me a full refund for both, one of which was a bit past their 30 day limit. Thank you Amazon! I'm going to try the Mark of Fitness one. It looks like an actual company made it instead of some incompetent electrical engineer wannabe.

It won't work!,

I used one powerglove for a month and it was sporadic at working and then quit entirely. Amazon sent a free replacement. It did the same thing. I couldn't get it to turn on, then after 8 minutes or so if it did turn on I couldn't get it to turn off. It needs major redesigning. I like the concept and it was comfortable but that's about all. I had great hope for this item after reading reviews, but found that it didn't function as described, and that the three buttons that control it are so close together that my fingers were unable to press them individually...and I have tiny hands. It's a great idea, but needs a re-design before I could use it.

I use this product exclusively for the heart rate monitor while walking. My package said there is a software update and I had no problems with the powerglove turning on and off with one push. I love the display; it's bright and looks cool at night.

IT DOESN'T WORK!,
This review is from: PowerGlove Women's Heart Rate Monitor (Stitching Color Will Vary) (Sports)
The power glove I purchased doesn't work. I am so busy I haven't had time to pack it up and send it back.
This experience certainly makes me hesitant to order any product through Amazon again.

5 stars for idea, 1 star for execution,

This would be a great product if they could work the control panel bugs out. After the third use, I was unable to turn it off for some time, and it kept cycling through all its' programs. The on/off control button finally responded; I charged the unit and it turned on and off just fine. I put it in my gym bag, and when I got to the gym, it would not turn on. My suggestion to the manufacturers: same type of thing, but don't try to design it to do so much - just a reliable on/off switch and a heart rate.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

Seemed like a great idea. But when I took it into a work out the heart rate just seemed to fluctuate wildly during each activity, giving readings I could not believe were accurate. I also found it difficult to figure out how to use its various functions (this may be me--I am not a quick learner on technology).
I ended up sending it back to Amazon--first time I have ever done that with an Amazon purchase. |
