Product Description

The Jay Kordich PowerGrind Pro Juicer revolutionized the juicing industry. Built on the foundation of our runaway successful PowerGrind Pro Longevity juicer, our new Vitality juicer offers the same juice quality and patented technological advantages as it's big brother, but in a smaller, more compact size and at an attractively lower price. If you have a student that's off to college or friends and family members just introduced to juicing, this juicer would make the perfect gift to help them get started down the road to totally raw juices. Vitality's Hybrid Technology combines the best of slow masticating juicers with fast centrifugal juicers to preserve essential enzymes and phytonutrients while extracting up to 30% more juice per ounce of produce. It delivers the ease of use and speed of an extractor combined with the juice volume and juice quality of a grinder. The sleek compact design fits easily on your counter-top and is perfect for making leafy green juices and both soy and almond milk. Durable electric motor is reliable; it is 120V, 450W and 60Hz. The Vitality is easy to clean and our parts are PBA free and dishwasher safe. Backed by 1 year manufacturer's warranty on parts and motor.

At current pricing Longevity seems like a good deal.

Have owned Vitality juicer for a while now. Performs as discussed with Jay Kordich customer service. Call them and get clarification if confused. The videos can be misleading as they will more often than not show the Longevity juicer (larger black model) and not Vitality (smaller white one). That is from last year 199 vs 395 currently running 145 vs 237. At current pricing Longevity seems like a good deal. Vitality does its job, uses less counter top space. food needs to be cut down an extra step vs larger model, none issue for myself. As far as price points are concerned I compare it with Ninja and Breville which I own, if pricing stays within 150 - 250 then pricing matches up for features and materials used.

Regarding performance, Vitality is good for juicing 2 - 4 pints per day. Juiced celery, kale, swiss chard, ginger, beet, oranges, lemon, limes, carrots, parsley, spinach, pineapples, apple, melons. cucumbers.
Something of note for newbies, juicing is simple but is still a skill like any other kitchen skill so their are habits to form for food selection, prepping, juicing, and clean up that's second nature after a couple of weeks.

I used this juicer every day for five weeks. It was always hard to remove the screening basket (for cleaning); but on that last day, it simply wouldn't open.

I called PowerGrind's customer service. They could not help me, nor would they honor the warranty because they said I bought it from an unauthorized dealer. (?) I called Amazon, and they gave me a full refund without any trouble. Thank you, Amazon!

I replaced it with a much higher-end masticating juicer which was backordered for a long time. While I waited for that juicer, I bought an inexpensive Black and Decker juicer. So while I review the PowerGrind, I can compare it with the Black and Decker.

The PowerGrind is more difficult to clean. The pieces are dishwasher safe, but they are large (larger than the pieces of the Black and Decker), and they fill the entire top of your dishwasher. If you handwash them, they are large and fill your whole sink and dish drainer. There are a lot of little nooks and crannies to scrub.

The holes in the PowerGrind screen are a bit larger than the holes in the Black and Decker, therefore more food pieces get caught in it; and, therefore, and it takes longer to scrub clean. The screen (of either brand) has to be hand scrubbed even if you do put it in the dishwasher!

Because the holes in the PowerGrind are larger, the juice will be pulpier -- though not objectionably so. If you care the strain the juice, you will get a lot of pulp out of it. Some people like that; some people don't. But it is nothing like the clear fruit juices you buy at the store (like Treetop or Welches). The resulting juice texture is much more like Odwalla or Naked.

I thought the quality of the Power Grind juice was very good.

I love this juicer. Yes, it is a bit more cumbersome because you have to cut veggies in small pieces and have to juice slower but it helps me practicing patience :) and being able to juice greens is SOOOOO worth it. My initial hiccup was that I couldn't get the basket out but one call to the help line and some practice made perfect. I love the size and although the white basket gets stained, I love the color of the machine. Love it, love it, love it!

I have a used several juicers. You know what for the price, this gem is excellent. It can get a bit noisy , so I have it on a dish towel. I juice daily. I juice kale, all veggies and fruit. I have to peel ginger and oranges. Aside from that ..... I could not be happier. I am not sure where negative reviews stem from. I did not give a 5 star , because I never give 5 stars. I would and have recommended this juicer since it arrived. This is my first review. I think it needs a higher rating. You really cannot get better quality for the value.

I received this juicer as a Christmas gift from my boss. She had bought one for herself (a different one, though), and I had been using the heck out of it (I'm their nanny), and decided that I might like one of my own. She was right!!

I feel like this juicer definitely produces more juice than the one I use at work. It is super fast, and really just a breeze to use.

I do see a lot of the reviews that complain about getting the blade basket out, and I'll admit that I had a bit of trouble with it myself at first. I had to get my boyfriend to help me, but once he was able to show me the "trick" to it, I can do it on my own now.

To remove the blade basket: Push the silver button, and rotate the basket counter-clockwise until it stops. With the silver button still down, you'll need to use a pretty good bit of force to continue pushing it until you can pop it past that stopping point, and it can help to push down sometimes. Once you pop it loose, push down again and it should spring up.
