4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent product.
This mixer is super powerful and does a great job.

I've had two problems, but the problems are minor and shouldn't prevent you from purchasing this model.
1. The spatula attachment occasionally pops off. I had this with my last Black & Decker mixer, too.
2. The locking part of the storage case is fragile and got damaged during shipping. I emailed...

This is a reliable product, but you better have a large bowl! I learned the hard way, when I turned it on the lowest speed and my cookie dough sprayed all over. Haven't been able to use it on any other speed. Hard to hold on to. Better to get a base to attach it to.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works well!, November 10, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This handy little mixer (in it's own storage case) works
for anything I've tried it on . . . cake batters, pies
and cookies. The motor seems to have lots of power, and
I find myself using it more than my large KitchenAid.
'Haven't tried it yet on divinity, but will test that
prior to Christmas.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fast & efficient, October 22, 2008
This review is from: B&D PowerPro 250W Hand Mixer (Electronics)
I love this hand mixer. When I first used it, I didn't use a proper mixing bowl so the mix went flying a little, so I reduced the speed & it was better. The next time I used it I used a different bowl - a stainless steel mixing bowl & even on high the mix stayed in the bowl. So if anyone had this problem you must check out the bowl u r using. It defines this in the instructions that come with the mixer. I also like the case it comes in. Everything is tucked away nice & neat.

2.0 out of 5 stars Low speed is way to fast, pooly designed beaters, October 4, 2009
By
This review is from: B&D PowerPro 250W Hand Mixer (Electronics)
This is a heavy and powerful mixer. Power is great, but power and rotational speed are different things. There is no reason for the lowest speed to be so high that it flings ingredients out of the bowl. They need to gear it down so that it doesn't spin so fast or change the motor design. The beaters are very poorly designed for mixing ingredients. I've used Kitchenaid and even cheap (less than $10) mixers that would beat lumps of brown sugar in a batter better than this one. These beaters manage to shoot the lumps right through, over and over again. I use a spoon to mash the soft lumps and continue. I could sift everything of course, but shouldn't have to.

This mixer does the job. It is heavy and doesn't have a lot of different settings for speeds, but it it powerful.

5.0 out of 5 stars Black & Decker Mixer, January 11, 2007
By
I have had Black & Decker mixer before. In fact, this was the 3rd one that I have purchased. I also own the Black & Decker Gizmo can opener. I am extremely impressed with Black & Decker products. My landlady was mixing a cake and her mixer broke. She borrowed my first Black & Decker mixer and then went out and bought one. The reason I had to buy a new mixer this time is because the cord got burned.

Around Christmas I found a Black & Decker floor cleaner. I plan on purchasing that at a later date. Any of my small appliances that wear out will now be replaced with a Black & Decker product.

I would be more than glad to help promote any Black & Decker product.

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to review this product.

This is a 7 speed blender, but heaven help you if you go that high. I turned it to 1 and got cookie dough in my hair.

2.0 out of 5 stars way too powerful, October 10, 2009
This review is from: B&D PowerPro 250W Hand Mixer (Electronics)
There is no such thing as a slow speed button. The slowest speed is way too fast and throws the food everywhere. I'll be returning it.
