PowerQuest PowerExpert ST, a key component of PowerQuest's PowerManage Suite, is a real-time storage resource-management solution providing administrators the power to take control of network storage devices. Designed to allow administrators to quickly move from installation to policy selection and enforcement--and get to the root of storage management problems--PowerExpert ST typically recovers up to 30 percent of your storage server space. System administrators can utilize PowerExpert ST to monitor, manage, and enforce disk storage limits. You can generate standard and customizable reports on all major storage criteria, and prevent file server contamination by blocking many different types of files. You can also plan capacity by recording storage usage over time to estimate future storage requirements.

PowerExpert contains multiple predefined storage-management reports, which deal with issues of usage, security, performance, and management. Reports can be run against any object displayed in the tree windowpane, from the directory level to a full domain. Reports may also be gathered into report sets, which can be run ad hoc or as a result of a quota threshold being triggered. Actions can be taken interactively against the files displayed in the detail reports from PowerExpert ST's Management Station or in batch via the batch file generator. Four output options are currently supported: CSV, DBF, HTML, and plain text. You can e-mail reports to a list of users in any of the supported formats.
