I wanted a smaller camera with a long optical telephoto lense. At 30x optical plus I like Canon, this camera caught my attention. The reviews and price point met my requirements so I bought this for a cruise I took in July. While there are some issues I can live with, this camera takes very good pictures. At 30x optical, I was able to capture the craters on the moon and another cruise ship at night that didn't even show up in the picture with no zoom. The camera is larger than an Elph but it fits nicely in my cargo pants or suit coat pocket. It has no view finder which can be a problem on bright days but I have learned to live with it. Also, at 30x optical it can be difficult to get a good picture without a tripod or resting it on a firm surface. Sometimes I just took 5 or 6 pictures of the same subject in succession and one would usually come out ok. I would just delete the others. Thank goodness for digital photography. It also has a pop up flash that must be manually released. When I first started using the camera, I forgot about this and was wondering why the flash didn't fire. Now I actually like this feature because the camera does take good pictures in low light. Also when you want a filler flash to brighten faces with a strong back light, this seems to work fine. The camera has a lot of manual settings if your into that but so far I have just used it on auto and it has served me well. The only reason I give it 4 stars is the lack of a view finder and the difficulty of getting a focused pictured at 30x when held in your hands. I do like the camera and others have marveled at some of the 30x pictures I have taken. Other than my old Canon EOS camera, which was very large and bulky, this is the most versitile camera I have ever owned. I would not hesitate to recomend it.

We are just starting to use the camera but already we are impressed with how easy it was to set it up and get started. This package is excellent with the factory battery and 2 (two) spare batteries along with a charger. My wife likes the compact protective case that came in the package also. Considering the cost of 2 spare batteries and a 32 Gb Memory Card, the package is well worth the extra amount just for those three items versus just buying the camera and then picking up those items which you really need to use the camera effectively.

Taking a trip to Italy and wanted a compact camera that took high quality photos. Over the years I've owned several Canon cameras and wanted this model but could not find it in our local stores. I purchased locally the Nikon Coolpix L830 and the Nikon Coolpix p500 but just wasn't happy with the way the flash functioned on the p500 and the Nikon L830 was bulkier and only had slightly more zoom 34.8X vs Canon 30X. Neither of the Nikons had WiFi, Canon SX700 does. I compared photos of the same shots side by side between the Nikon Coolpix p500 and The Canon PS SX700 pictures won in resolution, accurate colors and ease of use. I returned both Nikons and have taken many photos with the Canon since and LOVE IT! Compact, lightweight, excellent picture quality. The bundle package was a real bargain, camera case isn't the best quality but usable and everything I needed was included. VERY happy with my purchase!

I like all the technology I can get in my pocked. I like to have a good camera with me a lot of the time. SLR's are too bulky. This camera is great for me. It takes great pictures, fast smooth focus, lots of features.

This is a great camera - small but with a huge zoom for something this size. I did a lot of research on various professional and buyer reviews. I'm glad I went with this camera. And the packaged bundle from the seller is off the hook!!! Everything I could possible need. I especially like the tripod and the 2 extra batteries. Great job on this guys!!

I have had my eye on this camera for several months. I was looking for a small Canon with a higher level of optical that would still fit in my pocket. I didn't want to have to worry about a separate lens cover. I've used a PowerShot 2300 for a couple years and wanted the same convenience with a longer reach. 30X's optical caught and held my attention. I knew this was the camera for me and finally invested in this little gem. It comes in the Canon box along with a battery, a charger and a wrist strap. I knew I'd need more batteries and a memory card, so I looked for a bundle and Focus Camera seemed to have the best package at a great price that included several other items as an extra bonus.
The SX700 is a little larger and heavier than the 2300 that I am used to. Actually, the bigger size makes it more comfortable to use than my smaller PowerShot and the added weight is not an issue. I would say that it is a little more user friendly and the larger screen makes a nice difference. For me, its just right!

Awesome Camera. I got this for myself for my birthday in time for a trip my son I I took across country. From VA to Mt Rushmore to Yellowstone to the grand Canyon and home. A lot of different types of scenery and action shots. Any "bad" pictures were my mistake. Night time shooting is always difficult with a point and shoot but this one did a decent job of Mount Rushmore at night, and we did a couple short movie clips of teh light show. Considering there was a zoom, it took it a little bit to adjust to the light but when it settled down the movie was decent. Took excellent movies of the Buffalo walking around the car and long shots of the fantastic scenery. Bought another one for Christmas for my Son who is a birdwatcher.

Ordered the Canon camera as a birthday gift. After checking several Internet sites and local stores, I found that the Amazon price was in line or better. And even more so as this package came with all sorts of things you would ordinarily have to purchase separately (memory card and card reader, small tripod, extra battery, etc.). The package arrived within two days and all was included. I have not had the opportunity to take photos with the camera, but I did charge the battery and checked that it worked. I still cannot believe this small camera has all the features that it does and also sports the amazing zoom lens and video capability. It will be hard to carry the old SLR anywhere now as this camera really does fit in your back pocket. Buy this kit and you will not be disappointed.

Debated a long time over getting a bigger footprint camera or the PowerShot SX700. Decided that the smaller frame would meet my needs better when hiking and riding bike. I am certainly glad I made that decision as the camera has been great. Wonderful pics and the zoom focuses quickly. Something I found to be a bit of a problem with the longer range non SLR zooms that I tried. The other criteria I had was the ability to take really close up pics. It performs well at that also. I even took closeups of scorpions at night with a black lite and no flash of course. They were extremely detailed. Solid camera
