Style Name: HTCSize: Desire HD/Inspire 4G Verified Purchase
First off, there's very little information on what this product really is, or does, on the web site. So I hope this helps. Basically, you're getting a battery in a silicone sleeve that plugs into your phone's microUSB jack. My main problem with this product is in the disconnect between how I WANTED it to work, and how it DOES work. Hopefully I can prevent others from making this mistake, or at least let them make an educated purchase.

How I wanted it to work:
Act as a transparent addition to my existing battery. All other functions are the same. I just have a huge virtual single battery in my power-vampire Inspire 4G.

How it does work:
It acts like a charger.
Let me explain some of the ways this sucks. First, your phone always thinks it's charging. Your phone doesn't see this battery as a battery, it sees it as a charger. So your battery metering applications are all useless now. Your battery meter on your phone shows "lightning bolt" instead of a value. There are 4 dots on the back of this pack that show you it's charge level, and when those run out, your battery pack becomes a useless weight, but then your phone battery indicator starts working again because you've switched over to your (hopefully now fully charged) internal battery. Since your phone thinks it's charging, the amber charge light is always on while this skin is on. I don't know how much power it wastes doing this, probably not much, but it's a waste. Also, if you've set your phone's screen to not sleep while you're on a charger, your phone's screen will never sleep while you're on the battery pack. You'll need to disable that setting in Applications>Development (why it's not in Power Saving is beyond me) in Settings.

Style Name: SamsungSize: Galaxy SII SkyRocket (AT&T)
I purchased the PowerSkin case in-store at the same time as I traded in for a new Samsung GS2 Skyrocket. As an avid user of smartphones' "smarter" features (web browsing, mobile media, texting/emailing, news & weather updates, etc) I find myself frequently tapping out batteries before the end of the day...and it's only going to get worse when LTE finally hits out here in The Lou,

Make no mistake: if you're a battery-slayer like me, the peace of mind this product provides is invaluable. Those actually believing the line about "2x the battery life!" are, however, going to be a little let down when reality meets marketing hype.
It's also a bit of a beefcake, and adds quite a bit of junk to the trunk of your otherwise thin and svelte device. More on that later.

First, the battery life:
Inside the PowerSkin case is a battery rated for 1500mAh, whereas the battery inside the Skyrocket itself boasts a not-unimpressive 1850mAh. What this means in real-world terms is just that the Skyrocket's built-in battery can hold more charge, period, making PowerSkin's "2x the battery life!" assertion a mathematically unsupportable claim. Silly marketing department.
I won't knock it too hard because I did still get a solid 5 hours out of just the case itself under heavy use (WiFi & Bluetooth connected, downloading, installing, and configuring apps & catching up on RSS feeds at the same time), but this is something to be aware of nonetheless.

Secondly, the heft:
This baby is chunky. It may not add 2x the battery life, but it adds very nearly 2x the mass.

Style Name: SamsungSize: Galaxy S III AT&T / T-Mobile
The first day I had my Galaxy S3 I drained the battery in less than a day so I immediately started looking for a larger battery.

Initially I purchased the Hyperion extended battery for about $20 Hyperion Samsung Galaxy SIII 4200mAh Extended Battery + Pebble Blue Back Cover (Compatible with Samsung Galaxy S III GT-i9300, AT&T Samsung Galaxy S3 Samsung i747, Verizon Samsung Galaxy S3 Samsung i535, T-mobile Samsung Galaxy S3 Samsung T999, U.S. Cel... As the battery ratings indicate, it roughly doubled the length of my battery-life (100% increase). However, I began hearing stories about how when the phone is dropped at the wrong angle the screen can crack so I started looking for a case. With the extra large back from the Hyperion battery preventing a case fitting over it I started looking at battery cases.

Based on reviews I decided to wait for the Powerskin to be released, and I am happy that I did for the following reasons:
+It works with NFC (although I haven't had a use for this yet)
+It is made of silicone (Other cases are hard plastic and wouldn't reduce its slipperiness)
+It only slightly increases the length and width (most of the increased size sticks out the back)
+It has indicator lights and a on/off switch as well as an easy to use connector.
+The size and weight addition are similar to the extended battery alone.
