I'm really happy with this little guy. It makes a nice second (or third) monitor without taking up space and being very easy to install. It was especially cool to have this as a second display on my laptop

The beauty here is that you don't need to fiddle with extra video cards. You just plug it in via USB and you're set.

I'm running Windows Vista on my desktop and laptop, and it installed without a hitch... although it was not immediate. Windows Vista found the driver online (automatically) so it took about 10 minutes before I was able to use it (yeesh). Still, not having to install anything from the disc was great, and the install process is painless.

The device looks great on a desk. The stand is very stylish.

The display is super sharp. 800x480 on something this small is quite a treat. I had to increase the font size of my IM client to be able to read it, but that was fine by me.

It's a 7" diagonal, which is about 6" x 3½". With the base, it stands about 8½" tall and is about 4" deep. You can also remove the base, and mount it to just about any compatible frame or hold it in your palm I suppose.

Video and graphics are very sharp, although I can't recommend this for high-quality video as the refresh rate (over USB) is just too slow. If you're watching YouTube it will be fine.

Whoever designed the packaging definitely deserves a raise, while the person who wrote the included manual needs to be fired. The manual is ugly and full of translation errors, but really you won't need it.

The built-in webcam works as well as any other webcam. I haven't tried the mic or headphone jack yet. Note that this model does not have built-in speakers.

The device driver lets you easily rotate the display (and physically, you just turn it, the stand supports it just fine). The driver also lets you set the display to "Mirror" mode which mirrors your existing monitor (and changes its resolution to 800x480).

There are three drawbacks:

The device requires TWO USB ports to function. It's awesome that this doesn't need AC power, but be ready to give up two USB ports.

If you want to use the microphone or headphone jack, you'll need to plug in two more cables -- one for the mic and another for headphones. The data is NOT carried over USB as I would have imagined. I think this is pretty lousy but perhaps there's a good reason.

The driver installed two extra processes that must run for the display to work, called DisplayLinkManager.exe and DisplayLinkUI.exe. Together, these take 24 MB of RAM. In my book, that's acceptable. Whatever that software is doing should be off-loaded onto the hardware.

Service from Satechi has been great. Ordered from Amazon, shipped from Satechi. I'm using this little USB monitor as a secondary monitor sitting right next to a main 21" LCD monitor. The 7" Mimo is used to view the feed from a Webcam we have setup in the lobby of our workplace. The setup was easy, picture is great. I love the fact that this thing operates on USB only. No graphics card usage, no power cord, nothing. The packaging for this monitor from Mimo was really cool. Couldn't force myself to throw it away. 5 stars.

This is a great product. Just what I expected. I use it daily to view my IM. This makes the use of my other two monitors more efficient and my work is more productive.

I love this new monitor. It installed quickly and easily. Although it came with a 2-ported USB cable (so it could draw more power), it ran fine with just one USB port, no other power needed! Its a great little display that can play full motion movies, monitor my IM conversations, and hold a variety of small windows gadgets. The screen is bright and clear with good color quality.

Note that the monitor does not do DirectX / 3D graphics, so it doesn't have much use for gaming. But this isn't its intended purpose, and isn't a real drawback.

Considering it also has a Webcam, Microphone, and headset plug built in, it provides a lot of functionality in a small package. Definitely recommended.

A very convenient little monitor that lends itself naturally to displaying widgets, IM windows, etc. If you have programs you like to constantly keep an eye on but can't quite fit on your primary display or displays, this will come in handy. Hooks up to your system with a USB cable only; very clean with no wall warts or anything of the like. The built-in webcam and microphone are just the icing on the cake.

The product is outstanding. I had no problems installing and using it. I use it both in extended and mirror mode. I actually used it attached to my portable laptop in mirror mode as a display to demonstrate an internet project to a professor.

I just finished building a media server to replace a 400 disc CD player and a 400 disc DVD player. I needed a way to view various computer functions, particularly during music playback, when the big screen TV wasn't going to be needed as a monitor.
I purchased the MIMO UM730, and it worked great...right out of the box. Set up was a two minute matter, and the picture is crystal clear and really beautiful.
I highly recommend it. First class in every way.

I'm using as the main monitor (I was looking a small replacement for my 18" LCD monitor and save some energy)not as an extension of the desktop (changed the video card properties to mirror) , since that desktop is used only for VoIP calls, and MSN messenger.
Works perfect!!!

My only complaint is that a higher resolution would be nicer. But this monitor is built solidly and functions extremely smoothly. I use it with my laptop to give me an extra monitor (very useful for certain tasks), and I use it on my desktop as a dedicated Windows Media Player / Google Chat monitor.

Makes a great gift.

Once i got the correct win7 driver the screen worked a treat. However the touch screen functionality does not seem to work. Downloaded latest driver from website but still no luck with win7x64. If you are in dire need for touch then you may want to prepare yourself for disappointment.
