5.0 out of 5 stars Exactly what I was looking for
I have purchased MANY of the 96V230 batteries to cycle through my wireless transmitters for my microphone and guitar systems (Sennheiser). I perform daily, and often have 3-4 one hour and 4 half-hour performances. I swap out each day and the batteries do fine. I have tried other solutions but got cut-outs. 2.0 out of 5 stars 2 of 4 fail in a year
I'm not as impressed with this product as I was in the beginning.

I use a Maha charger to charge my 4 Maha 9v's.

Now, 2 of them won't charge, way before their expected life end. If it were 1, well, ok. But 2, this is obnoxious, incompetent, and not worth buying again.

These batteries have been THE answer for me so that I can save money AND be nicer to the environment. I did have a problem with 2 of the batteries, one of which was dropped, but Maha replaced them under warranty very quickly for me with no hassle. The only other battery that I thought would meet my needs was the Ipower similar version to this battery, but I got scared off when I saw the oversize dimensions of the battery, which would not fit into my transmitter.

9.6 volts. Great stuff. Initially I purchased other brands of rechargable batteries for some electronics I have which call for 9 volt batteries, but they didn't even power one of my items. This is because they are rated for something like 8.4 volts, and I was told that it may be even lower. These work great, and this company has some really nice chargers as well, which charge in around 2 1/2 hours and automatically switch to a trickle charge to avoid overcharging and to keep the batteries optimally charged. I didn't see it here, but I found a 4 battery charger which is perfect for my needs.

1.0 out of 5 stars Bad BRAND/MANUF. for 9V or any MiMH cells, November 11, 2010
This review is from: Maha Powerex MH-96V230 9.6V 230mAh Rechargeable NiMH Battery (Electronics)
Bought 3 of these Maha/Powerx 9.6V batteries in 2007. I also bought the Powerx 9V charger to make sure the batts. were properly charged. One of the batt's negative (-) terminal broke off a week after purchase, so it had to be solder on. All three batts. failed within one year: the charger would fault out for bad battery. Using a Lenmar charger, I was able to trickle charge them, but they drained very quickly in actual use.
Similar -- but not as bad -- experience with Powerx/Maha AAA and AA.

4.0 out of 5 stars Powerful DV battery, July 17, 2009

I speak with the use of an electro larynx. When a battery goes dead, I'm left speechless. Because the Maha PowerEx is more powerful, I can set the volumn level down, which helps it hold a charge. And it holds its charge longer than the other brands and models I've tested. I'm sticking with this one.
I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars because the case has come off. I don't know if this is dangerous. I just slide it back on and go on with my business.
And another issue common to all the batteries I've tried: they will burn out and melt down in my pocket. Ouch! And I've not been able to find a convenient carrier made for these guys. My solution--I don't carry spares, so I appreciate the longer charge life of this model even more. I'm going to order more of these.

3.0 out of 5 stars High voltage and mAh on the weak side, December 13, 2009
This review is from: Maha Powerex MH-96V230 9.6V 230mAh Rechargeable NiMH Battery (Electronics)
I didn't realize that standard 9v batteries run around 540 mAh. These will not last long. A better option may be the ipower lithium rechargeable 9vs however those are very pricey. I've ordered the ipower 9Vs as I need something that lasts longer.

3.0 out of 5 stars 9.6V not for all applications, February 7, 2009
This review is from: Maha Powerex MH-96V230 9.6V 230mAh Rechargeable NiMH Battery (Electronics)
I purchased two of these to use in my Shure wireless transmitter. Though both the transmitter and receiver show full battery strength, the transmitter doesn't function on the higher voltage. An 8.4V NiMH works fine.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best, September 29, 2011

I use the battery in a shirt pocket hearing aid 16 hours per day and the performance far exceeds other 9 (8.4) volt NiMH batteries. I can get two and one half days of constant use where with the best of the 8.4 volt NiMH batteries I only get about a day sometimes less. I also use their recommended charger which is very fast, they charge in about 3-4 hours.

5.0 out of 5 stars TOP POWER!!, May 29, 2010

This review is from: Maha Powerex MH-96V230 9.6V 230mAh Rechargeable NiMH Battery (Electronics)
Quite simply: TOP POWER!! This 9Volt, (actually 9.6 Volt), battery holds it's charge nicely and powers a MIDI Controller keyboard for longer than the original 6-AA battery array (that was the original configuration). I figured that, after the 6-AA holder broke and, seeing as how the keyboard was old enough now that no replacement parts for it existed, I added up the 1.2 volts x 6 AA batteries and came up with 7.2 volts. I knew that a lot of people complained that many 9V batteries were only 7.2v to 8.4v, and that this POWEREX was a full 9.6 of honest, unadulterated power. As long as your intended device(s) can handle the full 9.6V, I highly recommend this battery. It is awesome. At under $12 apiece, it might seem expensive, but for you you get, trust me, it is worth every penny. All other 9V rechargeable batteries are inferior.

These batteries last and work great. I can't say enough about these batteries. The power output doesn't fluctuate and they don't slow down until they are completely drained. I also use the Maha charger with this battery.
