Fix Toyota's one mistake with the Tacoma,
By
This review is from: Powerflow 6417 Pro-Fit Truck Splashguard (Misc.)
So, if you have a Toyota Tacoma and ever beat it like you should then you know that the factory mudflaps are crapola. They are hard plastic and snap right off on the first rock. These Pro-Fit aftermarket replacement splashguards fix the problem nicely though. They are hard rubber and bend when they meet a rock instead of cracking or trying to tear your fenderwell off for you. They are a bit of a pain to install because you need to drill some holes and this requires removing all of your wheels unless you have a 90-degree drill and a love for working in small spaces, but it's well worth the effort. Plus you get rid of the idiotic "4x4" on the rear factory flaps, which is patently wrong because you can't get a Tacoma (or any 4-wheel drive truck) with a 4-speed transmission anymore. An excellent product that I highly recommend!

Perfect solution for one problem with stock Tacomas,

The stock Toyota mud flaps on the 05-up Tacomas are made of hard plastic. I bought one of these trucks new in 05 and both mud flaps broke when the truck was 2 weeks old simply from backing up in deep snow. I just bought another Tacoma used and both flaps were broken, big surprise. I recently read about the powerflow mudflaps on an enthusiast forum and bought a set. They fit the truck well and are quite flexible, yet they hold their shape and remain effective. I'm very pleased with them especially for the price.

Excellent Replacement for Flimsy Toyota OEM Flap on Tacoma,

These were a great replacement for the OEM flaps on my 2005 DC Tacoma which were tearing off from wind load alone (had not been offroad) after 5yrs. I did have to make a couple of spacers because of the step in the wheel well liner, and I made a small sheet metal tab/bracket to connect the inboard edge of the flap to a screw that it wouldn't reach. The look is great, and 11 months later, I'm very satisfied.
