3.0 out of 5 stars It is just OK read
The story is not bad but it lost its appeal to me when Leandro demanded Millie to honour her wedding vows and expected her to trust him instead of walking out in the first place. I had no problem with this but unfortunately his demand seemed a bit hypocritical to me when he was sleeping with different women (or at least intending to sleep with an actress in the beginning...

This review is from: Powerful Greek, Unworldly Wife (Harlequin Presents Extra) (Mass Market Paperback)

Sarah Morgan dazzles her readers with Powerful Greek, Unworldly Wife.

This love story sizzles off of the pages as one learns that Leandro Demetrios is not only a ruthless billionaire, he's one that any and every woman desires. However, there are some problems...... number one he's married but his wife Millie left him because she believed he had an affair with her sister. And she also believes that he's the father of her sister's child. And now that very same wife has come to claim her nephew because her sister died. Add to the list, Millie finds her husband in the arms of another woman, a well known beautiful actress.

As this story unfolds you learn they met at her parent's farm where she lived and worked. Immediately Leandro and Millie fell into a passionate affair, married only a few months later and this proud Greek took his marriage and their relationship seriously. Due to his wealth and status as all billionaires, he was in the limelight, expected to go to various parties, events and as a couple they were always being photographed and his sweet wife Millie never felt she measured up and she had self confidence issues. She never believed herself beautiful enough and compared herself to other women in her husbands past and to his friends he socialized with. Millie never felt confident or good enough and she didn't communicate those feelings to her husband.

This proud and sexy Greek has a plan and is determined that Millie will never again walk out on him and that they will honour their wedding vows. Personally, I immediately fell in love with him the more I read this up and down and very emotional love story. He's not as daunting as one might believe because you learn that he has taken in his baby nephew not because of an affair with Millie's sister but out of a sense of duty and to make sure little Costas has the very best life has to offer.

Was this painful at times to read? The answer yes due to Millie's misconceptions concerning her husband and because of her insecurities. The beautiful part of the story was how determined Leandro was in making sure they communicated, how patient he was with her when he found out her secret and how determined he was to make her realize her potential as the woman he loved not the insecure girl from the farm who always felt compared to her sister. Powerful Greek, Unworldly Wife was a magnificent love story and gives the reader hope because it's not about where you come from, it's about accepting who you are, believing in yourself, letting go of the past and in the person you love.

5.0 out of 5 stars Romance Junkie, December 15, 2009

Like Ms Shoemaker said this was a powerful and romantic story about Leandro and Millie. Millie walked out of her three month old marriage because she thought Leando had an affair with her sister. Millie was a bundle of insecurities, and she just ran. Leandro was angry because he felt his wife should have trusted him and stayed. Millie came back because her sister had a child that she claimed was Leandros and after her death Leandro claimed the child. I really enjoyed this story because they talked a lot and sorted out all the misunderstandings in such a beautiful way. I loved Leandro and like Ms Shoemaker the more I read the more I liked him. I recommend this book highly.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good read, May 23, 2010
This review is from: Powerful Greek, Unworldly Wife (Harlequin Presents Extra) (Mass Market Paperback)
Yes the book pretty much opens with the H, Leandro, seducing a starlet and the h, Millie, is in the bedroom sitting there. I found it rather amusing that Leandro likens the starlet to a farm animal, or a dumb creature. He truly cares about his estranged wife though. He just never realized how she felt about things, possibly because they lacked communication, once again as most of these stories show. She held back and he didn't notice or even ask. However once he does. . . it really is a good read.

The story is not bad but it lost its appeal to me when Leandro demanded Millie to honour her wedding vows and expected her to trust him instead of walking out in the first place. I had no problem with this but unfortunately his demand seemed a bit hypocritical to me when he was sleeping with different women (or at least intending to sleep with an actress in the beginning of the book) during their year of separation where they have not even gone through the divorce process. If the major issue with their marriage is about not being able to trust Leandro not to go to another women's beds, I can't see how Millie can trust him not to sleep with someone else if the first time they met again was witnessing his infidelity.

4.0 out of 5 stars good in the beginning but then.., January 21, 2012

it was a good book in the beginning, emotional and good sense of drama but then it just gets boring and repetitive in the second half.

2.0 out of 5 stars Insecurities! Insecurities!!, November 14, 2010

This review is from: Powerful Greek, Unworldly Wife (Harlequin Presents Extra) (Mass Market Paperback)
This would probably have gotten 4 stars from me, but my goodness Millie is a bundle of insecutiries!! I'm glad I don't know anyone like her in real life! I think that after a while her insecurities about everything started to make me feel...well, insecure! Leandro loved her, and granted she doubted his feelings for her especially with her sister's allegations, but she had so little confidence that she never wanted to confront her problems, or deal with them. Who needs a heroine like her?!!! I thought the story was a little dark too, I guess I don't like reading stories about burglers injuring a woman in a harlequin book! So actually, I'm reducing my stars to 2.5 and not 3 :o
