Ranging from soul to soft rock, singer and songwriter Gino Vannelli earned several hits during the 1970s, including "People Gotta Move" and "I Just Wanna Stop." Vannelli learned to play the drums early in life and studied music theory at McGill University. He formed an R&B band with two brothers, but later began recording solo material for RCA in 1970. Editorial Reviews

Two mid-'70s albums, originally on the A&M record label. Both of these albums made the US Top 100; the single People Gotta Move (included here on Powerful People ) reached No.22 in the singles chart. Vannelli went on to have further chart success with recent albums making the Classical and Jazz charts. Digitally remastered and slipcased with extensive new notes.

I've been waiting for a long time to have "Powerful People" remastered. I was not that familiar with "Storm At Sunup". All I can say is that the wait has been well worth it. The remastering is excellent and I am hearing things now that I never heard on the record, ( yes, I have this in LP format.) as on the original cd that was released. "Storm At Sunup" has been a pleasant surprise. I don't think it's as accessible as "Powerful People" but it has proven to be enjoyable non-the less. Now that's hope they decide to remaster the rest of Vannelli's work. i.e., "Black Cars" has already been done which by the way sounds great as well.

Excellent package with nicely remastered complete albums from Gino Vannelli. Includes photos, extensive liner notes, and complete lyrics. This series of 2- albums on one-CD from BGO has always been excellent. Hopefully they will continue with more albums from Gino Vannelli - Gist Of The Gemini, Pauper In Paradise, and Brother To Brother have yet to be remastered since their original CD release in the late 1980's.
