I'll keep it as short as possible-
PROS:
-the book, for the most part, accomplishes what it sets out to do: it's helpful in fixing most problems with the PS2
-most of the pictures are helpful.

CONS:
-LOTS of grammer and spelling errors (did I spell grammer correctly?). Anyway, didn't he have spell check? The most frequent one, though, was due to the fact that the author apparently doesn't know the difference between "to" and "too" (which spell check wouldn't have caught, but c'mon - proofread!)
-LOTS of repetition, hence the title of my review. I think the instructions to remove the casing of the PS2 were repeated WORD FOR WORD with the EXACT same pictures in three or four different areas of the book. I think he just did this to pad the book, because if he hadn't, the book would've only been about 50-60 pages.

Overall, I wouldn't recommend the book if you're just getting "DISC READ" errors. You can find the same instructions FOR FREE online if you just search around.

For problems with the power supply, it may be worth it.

For problems with the laser, forget it. The cost of the book plus the cost of possibly having to get a new laser is more than it would be to just get a new PS2.
