I bought this charger on Amazon 60 days ago. I was totally thrilled until this weekend. On a road trip, we started smelling something similar to burnt rubber. It was the portion of this charger that has the four female usb ports. Ones side of the plug was melting down noticeably and the other was just starting to look bad and melting down. The really damaged part of the port area was adjoining the female port that had my iPhone 5 connected. The usb "white" portion of that male head on that real Apple cable is now brown plastic. I also had a iPad 4 cable plugged in but that male connector does not seem to have been damaged. The other two ports were not being used. Needless to say, none of the four ports will charge now even though all four blue port lights still are working and indicate that they have power. I just read that one other Amazon buyer had similar problems. I wonder if the manufacturer or Amazon is going to comment or follow up regarding this potentially dangerous situation. What if this had happened while we were in the motel overnight and the car had been unattended. We have been leaving the charger on day and night. Buy at your own risk.

Be careful when using this product. It worked well for a week then melted. If you leave it in the car outlet, even if the device is turned off it will overheat. The charger melted and burned 2 holes into my car seats!!!! Danger! It can DESTROY your car!

Only had the charger for about a month before it shorted out and melted. I could smell the burnt plastic. I think I'm lucky it didn't catch my car on fire. Wish I'd have passed on this one.

Beware of buying iProduct charges - they ARE NOT all the same. The amperage makes a difference in how quickly your item charges. I originally noticed that my iPhone would charge in just an hour of so at home, but took many hours in the car.
Once I bought this charger - my phone charges faster in the car than with the apple charger that came with the phone.
We now have two phones plus an iPad in the family and being able to charge ALL THREE very quickly in the car is very nice.

I have four devices I need to regularly charge/power in my car: Wilson cell booster, phone (Blackberry Z10), headset (Plantronics Savor) and my GPS running watch. This unit will charge/power all four simultaneously, which is a great convenience! But just as important to me are on/off switches for every connection. The Wilson cell booster works great, but is a real battery drainer! For example, it will drain my car battery sufficiently to cause it to fail to start after 3 days or so (say, parked over a weekend, Friday to Monday). Hence, it is ESSENTIAL to disconnect the Wilson if parked for any time, which is a pain if I do this by unplugging the reconnecting the USB power cable. BUT, with the Saicoo charger, I just hit the off button for the Wilson connection, leave the rest running, and it's a happy setup!

Pros

+Powerful enough to charge every device I've tried so far, and all simultaneously!
+4 individual on/off buttons, one per charging port
+Very compact - tucks up close to my steering column and is accessible but out of the way
+High quality construction
+Just right length of cable from 12 volt connector to body with charging ports - have mine mounted to side of steering column via 3M industrial interlocking fastener (the better alternative to Velcro)

Cons

- a bit hard to reach the on/off buttons when cables are in place
- static cling connection material meant to mount the body with charge ports to a surface did not work for me at all - but easily replaced with the 3M fastener material.

Highly recommended!

I have purchased three of these so far.
One has worked well for over a month. One was damaged by user error. The third has a serious defect that causes it to heat up rapidly.
*Disclaimer* I am not an electrical engineer, just an amateur.
I opened the defective unit and inspected the components. Choke L2 has been wound improperly, and had cooked itself. It is now a very effective heating element, but not a very good DC choke.
While I cannot identify the manufacture date on this unit, it was the most recently purchased one and had packaging identical to the product photo (the others did not).

The unit which is not damaged remains very useful, and I would recommend it, however the most recent unit would give me caution until the manufacturer finds and rectifies their manufacturing problems.

With all switches OFF it still draws power. I bought the item to use with Solar energy. I am a little disappointed that it still draws power when all switches are turned off.

+Quite possibly, the best USB port charger I have every purchased from Saicoo Direct.
>>Port 1(A): IPAD. (Full Charge from 10% to 95% @ 3hrs)
>>Port 2(NA): Motorola H730 Bluetooth Headset. (Full Charge from 10% to 100% @ 30min)
>>Port 3(A): IPOD. (Full Charge from 10% to 95% @ 2hrs)
>>Port 4(NA) HTC Amaze (Full Charge from 10% to 100% @ 2hrs)
***ALL at the same time.

++I should also say,... for those of you who use the WAZE app on your phone,... we all know, -it's a power hog and, will drain the battery within an hour unless, you keep it in the car charger while you're driving. Not only will this charger maintain the strength of your battery while your driving but, it will take it to a FULL charge within 2-3hrs :-)
