First off, I must say, this is the first pellet/bb rifle, I've purchased in a long time. I'm 32 now, and when I was in my early teen years I think it was, I had an older Daisy Model 225, one-pump bb-gun. So going from that rifle to this, well, WOW! This rifle is so powerful and accurate, it just blows me away!

To me, it seems like Daisy always had made very high quality rifles and pistols, and this seems to be no exception to that rule. I've owned a bb rifle and bb pistol before, and have played with various other friend's rifles growing up, and to me, this is by far the most powerful I've used. I haven't even pumped it up to the recommended limit of 10 pumps yet, and it still seems so powerful, I'm just positive it is deadly to all small game, and would do some serious damage to a human, and possibly kill someone if pumped enough, and the shot was placed in the right area. Which I definitely wanted to mention, because to me, I wouldn't suggest a parent buy this for child, or give to a child as a present. I think it just has to much power with it, and I would recommend less powerful models for kids. But on the same side of that coin, if you have responsible parents, that will usually be present when their child is shooting this rifle, well then I would think it's okay to buy for them. But the world isn't that lucky to always have that kind of good parental supervision, so parents beware, and always follow and read all safety rules. And of course, always wear the safety eye protection, regardless of age.

I'm not an avid air rifle shooter, so I don't possess a large amount of technical knowledge and jargon, regarding this sport, but I'll do my best to give my impression of the rifle.

Got a squirrel problem and don't want to spend a bundle or spook the neighbors? This is your gun. The scope is its only real drawback. After mounting, it pointed right of the muzzle. I had to shim the front bracket with thin pasteboard to get a good eyeball alignment. After 8 practice shots, it groups about an inch at 25 yards, about the distance of an average back yard. It's hard to do much better since the scope doesn't magnify well at that range.

The test was from well inside a room out a window opened about 8 inches. At 6 pumps, it's no louder than a cap pistol. Penetration was through an eighth inch of heavy pressboard, then into a tree trunk flush with the surface. This was with the flat shot included. Imagine what you can do with 10 pumps and Crosman Destroyers.

A tip for novice gunners: turn the top screw clockwise if you're shooting high. Turn the side screw clockwise if you're shooting too far right. One complete turn moves the impact point about 5 inches.

The only cons concern the cheap scope. Since it straddles the bolt chamber, loading is tricky, and could cost you an opportunity. This doesn't compare well with the Crosman Fury, which can be loaded and cocked in five seconds flat. Unfortunately, it creats a loud sonic crack.

The biggest advantage to this gun is being able to zero the scope on your own property. That's how quiet it is. It doesn't cost much; go ahead and add it to your collection.

You can generally find this a couple dollars cheaper at your local Academy if you have one, but if not the Amazon one is a good deal and was way better than the Walmart ones (at the same price at least). This gun is awesome, I bought it because I couldn't afford to have and shoot a real gun at this point and because I am just getting into shooting. I was afraid this gun would be too small and child-like, but not at all. It's the perfect beginner's kit, the glass that come with can be used at the real shooting range so you don't have to pay to rent it for $2 (Atlanta prices >=O ). The iron sights needed to be adjusted slightly and the scope needed adjustment significantly. At first for the vertical adjustment, I had to practically remove the screw, after a week or so of shooting it finally settled down. Good quality product!

This kit would truly appear to be ideal to a new shooter, but the information that is listed on Amazon is partially incorrect. The gun itself is amazing. As this is my first Air Rifle, I don't know much about the competition, but for the price, this is excellent for those who are looking to do a little bit of target practice, or even go hunting. While I have not tested this rifle with the maximum amount of pumps, I can tell you that the few pumps I gave it was enough to penetrate two empty cans of soup! The rifle looks and feels like a real rifle(with the exception of the screws).

Now on to what came with the rifle. Amazon advertised this rifle to have 500 pellets and 1,050 BB's, But I only received 750 BB's and was very disappointed(at least the pellet count was right). In addition, Amazon also advertised this rifle to come with 10 paper targets, but I only received 8, fold-able targets that were on two separate sheets of paper. The safety glasses themselves were a bit too small for me, but that is understandable.

Unlike some people, I won't give this product a 3 or a 2-star rating, as I purchased this kit for the rifle and scope. Everything that was included was extra and I'm just glad I managed to get pellets and BB's as an extra.
