I just purchased this cable crossover, because I have a fitness book nearly dedicated to crossover excercises. $400 plus free shipping did not make me think that I was going to get a high quality piece of equipment. 1.0 out of 5 stars Horrible Experience!
As stated in many of the reviews, this product arrives without instructions. I was given a number from Amazon to call to get instructions who were supposed to be the manufacturer. It was not a correct number and while it was Powerline, they stated that the did not manufacture the product. I never received any directions. In the process of trying to put the thing...

I just purchased this cable crossover, because I have a fitness book nearly dedicated to crossover excercises. $400 plus free shipping did not make me think that I was going to get a high quality piece of equipment. However, I have been impressed with the quality. Metal is machined well with nice edges and operation of the equipment is smooth. The only complaint that I have is the lack of setup directions. I could not find any in the box nor on the internet, so we put it together based on the picture and diagram. We did not have any major problems putting it together. I have not had it long but think I definitely got what I paid for.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not bad for the price!, October 28, 2010

The boxes arrived torn and banged up but arrived much faster than expected. I would give this product 5 stars BUT the instructions that I assume should of been in the box weren't. I only had a deconstructed view of the product as if it was coming together. Luckily, I've played enough Tetris in my life to figure out the scheme. Also, if you use olympic weights, you need to purchase the the adapter to hold the weight. 4 Stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent product, great price, fast shipping!, March 26, 2011

I've had this about a month now, so I think it's time for a review!

Shipping: Most definitely 5 stars, ordered on a Friday I think, expected arrival date was the following Friday, came in on Thursday, a day ahead of schedule. And was FREE shipping.

Assembly: 3/5 stars on this. It wouldn't be hard to put together if the company would actually put some ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS with it. It blows my mind a company the size of Powerline/Body Solid would put a product like this out with only a diagram. I had to go back several steps a few times, taking about half what I had put together back apart because I missed putting something on since I had no clue as to what order to do it all. Did it all myself, but it would've been much quicker with a partner.

Use: 5/5 stars! My workouts have went through the roof since I got this :) You can really hit ever bodypart with this baby. You'll need to get some extra attachments though, I'd suggest a pulldown bar, 20" rotating bar, row handle and a rope at least. The included handles aren't all that comfortable, either, I'll probably be getting a pair of d-handles soon. I've had about 240 pounds on one side doing shrugs and it didn't seem to phase it.

Overall I can't recommend this highly enough! I call it a must-have for any home gym!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent addition to home gym, March 23, 2011

This is a well-designed piece of equipment for a home gym. It is my second one (sold the first due to a move out-of-state). The price via Amazon cannot be beat and delivery was expedient and without damage.
I highly recommend it to the serious, intelligent fitness enthusiast. It is designed for standard weight plates but of course can be adapted to the larger center hole olympic plates.
That said, there are no assembly instructions with this item! You get a parts list and a labeled illustration of the unit assembled. Beware that assembly requires planning and an assistant or it could become a drawn-out painful exercise in frustration putting it together! My assembly time ran over two hours due to errors in the sequence of assembly and doing it solo. FYI: It comes with a can of spray lubricant but no instructions for where lubricant needs to be applied.

Warnings: The opportunity for injury is high if mis-used (read "not for unsupervised children or the careless"). Proper body positioning when using it is also critical. Unsecured to the floor or wall it is very stable and smooth operating (assembled correctly), however, standing too far forward of or behind the overhead support while invoking the upper pulleys greatly increases the risk of pulling the machine over - ouch-time!

I was skeptical because of the relatively low price, but it is well-made and sturdy. Does exactly what it is supposed to. Rock solid on the floor.

In fact, i'm starting to like it so much, I'm almost thinking I should have gotten one with a weight stack on each side, because I'm using it for more than I thought I would originally.

Great buy though.

This product needed to be put together from the ground up. We use it daily and really like it. There are four pulley sites, so my husband and I can exercise at the same time. When no one is using the cable crossover, we use that open area for to do floor exercises. You do have to be creative in doing exercises that focus on lats and hip abd and add. Really, your creativity limits you on this piece of equipment. My husband even uses the top bar to do pull-ups. This product is worth the money.

5.0 out of 5 stars Well worth the price and free shipping, January 28, 2012
This review is from: Powerline PCCO90X Cable Crossover (Sports)
I ordered this crossover unit for my basement home gym based on previous reviews here and of course the price and free shipping. The packages arrived at my house a mere 2 days later, which was 5 days faster than the estimated delivery date. Go Amazon! The packaging was a little beat up however not a single part was damaged or missing.

The first thing i did was take an inventory from the included parts list to make sure everything was there, and it was. Although no detailed instructions are included, I felt that the diagram provided was more than adequate to correctly and efficiently assemble the unit. It took me, working alone, about 3 hours to assemble the unit. I know this only because i turned on "apocalypse now" when i started assembly and i finished the assembly before the movie ended :)

A few things i noticed that the "instructions" neglected to mention:
As someone previously stated, a silicon lubricant is included however there is no mention of where to lubricate. I just used common sense and lubricated all of the areas of moving parts (pulleys, etc).
Also, make sure you string the steel cable through the pulley brackets before bolting the pulleys into the brackets. Otherwise you'll end up having to remove the pulley from the bracket in order to get the cable to fit through. There's a second diagram of the completed unit included which shows how the cables are to be run throughout the entire unit. The instructional diagram does not give any mention whatsoever of how or when to run the cable.

After assembly, i used a 4 foot level to make sure both sides of the unit were exactly perpindicular to the floor and then again went over all the bolts to make sure they were as tight as i could get them. After doing this, the unit was very very sturdy and had virtually no "wiggle" from side to side, even with no weight to hold it down.

Movement is very smooth, even better than what i had expected it to be and so far my workouts with this unit have been just as good as those i got using the commercial unit at the gym i used to go to.

Accessories provided include 2 snap link hooks, 2 single barbell handles and 1 ankle strap. Please note, you will need to purchase olympic plate adapter sleeves in order for this unit to accept olympic style plates. The product description neglects to mention this little tidbit. Not a big deal in my opinion though considering how inexpensive this unit is (and with free shipping).

Overall, I'm 100% satisfied with this unit and very happy that i purchased this one instead of dishing out an additional $700+ for a more expensive crossover machine.

I got it on time but with missing parts, complained to Amason and got instant response and I reordered missing parts with refund money. I had a little hard time to assemble it with a simple sketch illustrtion. It works very well in my garage and makes my garage like real GYM now. I like it so nuch.

I could not be more happy with this product. I did not find it hard to put together after having a good look at the instruction page. It is a very solid piece of equipment. The only downer is that the pulleys do not adjust, you either pull from the top or the bottom. They do swivel though and that is nice. I cannot imagine finding a better deal than this.
