Budget Bench,

The Good:
- Price - adjustable seat position - adjustable back position - sturdy for bench presses The Bad: - padding is thin - only for bench press and bench press varieties - too high for people under 5' 5" - front legs get in the way and I'm over 6'1" This is a perfect bench for anyone starting out or on a budget. My wife had problems with the bench height and the front legs get in the way. The pads are not designed to support any weight unless you are centered on the bench. I would not do step ups on this bench.

This bench has been really decent for the money. I used it in my outdoor backyard home gym setup. It was easy to install, and good quality for the money, its sturdy.
The bench has three positions: horizontal, mid way, and vertical. My one issue with it is that it needs one more position. When the back part is straight up, its too vertical for me. I prefer to have my bench back be just sligthly back from vertical with doing military presses, etc. I hope that makes sense. I knew this bench didnt have that option when I bought it, so its not a failure on the product. Its just somethat I learned once I had the bench as far as my preferences. I gave it a 4 star based on price. If you have bigger budget, always get the bench with the most back position options you can afford.

This is the second bench I have assembled in my life. Including the time it took to hunt down my socket set and a wrench, it took me a little less than an hour to assemble. I have used it for every exercise I've ever done with free weights and had no problems with it. The closest thing I have to a complaint is that to move it, you have to grab the frame instead of the seat like I've gotten used to. It fits into my smith machine perfectly and at 6' flat I find it comfortable. It doesn't have the most gadgets, it's not the most amazing bench in the world either, but it's sturdy and affordable.

Good Entry Level bench for the price. I am reasonably handy, so spent an hour assemblying it from the parts diagram. All the pieces required were included, and I had all the required tools. If you are not so handy, a step-by-step assembly procedure would be helpful. I use it for decline situps and dumbell strength training. The only improvements I would make for my use is to add additional padding.

I love the Powerlin PFID130 X Flat Incline Decline Bench. Once assembled, it is easy to manuever and very comfortable. I love the 45 degree incline for an excellent AB workout. The product is professional and i something I would expect to see in a quality gym.
The instructions included is a one page EXPLOSION diagram. I searched on-line for step by step instructions and called the maker of the product directly. You can find the same blown up diagram on line in a PDF format, but no one has published (that I can find) step by step instructions. One of the fitness installers I spoke to said to start from the base up and I should be fine. I had a friend who has put several of these together before and he did it for me in about 45 minutes. I paid him $30 which is a better deal than the $120 it would have cost me to have the local fitenss installer put it together.

Overall it is a pretty good bench. Solid and thick steel. The only bad thing is the decline has a space in it so it makes it uncomfortable to do the decline sit ups but you can just put a pillow or blanket there for added comfort. Works good for decline bench press but I would recommend getting a separate slant board if your interested in decline sit ups.

takes awhile to assemble, but just imagine as if your playing lego's
and as what the other review guy mentioned, too high for people under 5' 5" Suggest get a bench lower in height than this one. if your height is equal or less than 5'-5" But overall great Cheap Bench. |
