5.0 out of 5 stars Fully meets expectations
The Glute Master was not difficult to assemble (just pay attention to the instructions) and there were no missing parts. It's not a commercial gym machine and it does not pretend to be; it's a good basic piece of home gym equipment that does exactly what the manufacturer says it does.

1.0 out of 5 stars made cheaply, falls apart in 6 months, nowhere to get it fixed! NO online support
I bought the Powerline PGM200X Glute Master and got it with free shipping. I've had it about 7 months. It is junk. I've had to replace the rollers myself with parts from a local hardware store. Then, to my dismay, the two upper bars have started to split from the main support. This thing is not made well at all. Don't waste your money. It is not worth it. There is NO...

The Glute Master was not difficult to assemble (just pay attention to the instructions) and there were no missing parts. It's not a commercial gym machine and it does not pretend to be; it's a good basic piece of home gym equipment that does exactly what the manufacturer says it does.

It is important to properly adjust the chest pad height so that your back doesn't bend backwards as you raise the foot plate. If you don't do this it will give you a back ache, but when properly adjusted it's fine.

The first few sets use it without any weights to get used to the movement... it's not the way we normally move our legs and overdoing it means a trip to the massage therapist. After that start with fairly light weights (10 pounds or so) and add five pound increments as the reps start to become easy. In a SURPRISINGLY short period of time it will make an obvious difference in the shape of your butt and thighs if you actually use the thing every day or two.

5.0 out of 5 stars Approaching commercial quality with great isolation, February 18, 2011

Great piece of equipment.
Very smooth rolling action and spring assisted pin remind me of commercial equipment.
I can think of no other piece of equipment that lets you feel the isolation on the hamstrings.
We look forward to using it each day.

There is NO place online to get support from Powerline (look for yourself). So, DON'T buy this piece of junk!

3.0 out of 5 stars Good Machine - Some problems..., February 4, 2011

Bought this and I am very pleased with it NOW - BUT I had to do a LOT of tinkering with the screws, bolts, etc. First off, the box was missing 4 bolts, now this could very well just be an isolated incident but still, had to go look for the right kind at the local home-improv store to be able to assemble it.

Additionally, the most annoying thing was that the nuts to put together the sliding mechanism are wrong too (which makes you wonder how quality-oriented the manufacturer of this thing is) - When you get it, go to your local home-improv and buy 8 of the same diameter nuts that do NOT have one end blocked so the bolts can be tightened all the way (I know it sounds confusing but when you get this thing and try to assemble the gliding mech youll get why) - this will enable you to tighten the gliding system properly making it glide as it SHOULD glide - otherwise you will have a VERY hard time making this work.
In addition, the instructions for assembly are HORRIBLE.

So basically loved the machine but I really dont think its fair to leave the consumer to figure out and indeed to actually FIX the product's shortcomings.
Amazon was contacted and they were very nice about it, telling me to send it back to exchange for another unit, BUT given the size of this machine it was just easier to keep it and find the missing bolts on my own as well as the right type of nuts. Hope this helps - hard to find a butt exerciser (I know, I looked) and this one is fairly good after you "FIX" it.

It probably works but not something you likely keep up with. I find myself very bored using this machine which takes up a lot of space. You are better off buying Dolores Munoz butt work out video for about 10 bucks.
