I'm so happy I purchased this at the store before I read these reviews or I most likely wouldn't have gotten this. I've always liked the idea of power mats but never liked the execution in the previous generation. I happened to be at the store and saw this, I had to try it out. I bought one of these for myself and my husband, we both absolutely love these. We both found these so functional I purchased 2 more from Amazon, each at about $10 cheaper too. I would also like to mention we use these on our Verizon iPhones, the side buttons are a little further down than on the ATT phone but this still works fine.

The case doesn't have padding and doesn't provide a lot of protection but it's no less than my old case that just slid on. The back is fully protected as are the sides but the front doesn't have much protection, but then if it did I probably couldn't use my phone. :) The built in adapter converts the standard Apple port to a industry standard USB micro port. I find this feature outstanding, I no longer need to use an Apple USB cable but one of the many micro usb cables I already have, not to mention the micro cables I have are all longer than the short Apple usb cables.

The person(s) that say you can not charge your phone in your car must not realize any standard micro USB cable will work. My iPhone plays music AND charges in my car with out any problems.

I love the fact that I can charge my phone and not have to plug it in, this makes answering the phone much easier. I just keep my phone in the charging cradle and simply pick it up to answer, no longer do I need to deal with short cords when I'm rushing t o answer my phone.

The only downside I have is really with the manufacturer, not with the phone.... I've searched and searched but if I want to buy the separate components, I can't. I can buy a case separately but not the charging unit, which is what I want. I ended up having to purchase a second complete set for myself so I could have a charger at home and at work so my husband and I each have a charge at work, there is a charger in our family room and the last charge is in the bedroom with 2 extra cases in a drawer.

I have't had an issue with the quality of the case but I haven't taken the phone out of the case since I bought it a month ago. Read more ›

I don't understand the major contrast about this charger. I bought it, I put my phone in it. I set it in the tray and it charges. Simple as that. I didn't buy it to protect my phone, the tray makes the phone set in only one spot and when it is in that spot it charges. I've not noticed any discharge during the day while I have it in the case. I've not had to take it out of the case. I think my phone connection port will last longer since I'm not plugging it in and unplugging it daily. This thing just works. My only complaint about it is the noise it makes when you insert the phone or remove the phone from the base, it makes a really unique sound which is no big deal, unless you plan on leaving it by your bed at night. When it finishes charging, at around 2-3 am, it makes this sound, just enough to wake me up. The noise is coming from the base, not the phone. I've contacted the power-mat CS folks to see if this can be quieter or turned off and am waiting for a response. This is my only issue.

One of the flaws in Apple's chargers is the short that inevitably presents when the wires near the phone to charger connection cease to meet rendering it utterly useless. I wanted a charger that eliminated that issue and I found it in this product. After about 45 days I am extremely pleased with this purchase. Comes ready to use out of the box with a special case that allows the phone to connect with the PowerMat. The only qualm I have is the phone sometimes gets hot, but resetting the phone seems to alleviate the issue.

The Power Mat for the iPhone 4 and 4s works fantastic. I love the convenience of getting to work, dropping the phone on the charging mat and not dealing with wires and plugs. When the phone rings I pick it up and answer it and don't have cords to unplug or get in the way. Also, since I'm not constantly plugging and un-plugging my iPhone cord I expect it will extend the life of the port on my iPhone. It also reduces clutter on my desk at work.

I have about half a complaint over the fact that the case converts your iPhone port into a standard micro-USB port. On the one hand it reduces my need to find an iPod cable to charge my phone or connect it to the computer. Micro-USB cables are cheaper and more ubiquitous than iPod/iPhone cables. However, the downside is if I want to plug my iPhone into a iPod-ready device like an iHome speaker system, or some other Apple-specific accessory that uses the standard iPod port or docking system. In that case I have to take the phone out of the Power Mat case. This wouldn't be a huge deal, except the case is so tight fitting that you're almost guaranteed to damage any screen protector you might have on your phone when you put the case back on (taking the case off is actually sort of difficult too). I've gone through two screen protectors already because when I tried to insert my phone into the case it pulled up and bent the corner of the screen protector, rendering it pretty much useless.

The only full complaint I have is I don't understand why every device I buy has to come with an LED light. I want to charge my phone on my night stand since I use my phone as my alarm clock. But the bright white LED charging indicator on the Power Mat casts MUCH too much light. It lights up the whole bedroom.... I HATE having every electronic device I own blinking and lighting up the night. One of the things I love about the iPhone is it doesn't have all those obnoxious blinking LED lights like my old Droid X had. I wish there was an option to turn this off, as it wastes energy and is extremely annoying. Read more ›
