Nice Dust Collector,

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Powermatic PM1300 1791077CK 1-3/4 HP Dust Collector with Canister Kit (Tools & Home Improvement)
Not much to say here. Super Saver Delivery put this dust collector in my hands 4 days after I order it. Assembly was uneventful. Powermatic, for once, had a well written owners manual but again this machine is very simple to assemble. The machine works very well, timer and remote are excellent, power is very good, fit an finish is top notch. It would have been nice if PW would have included a dust collection hose, that was another $20.00 expense that many other manufacturers include. The owners manual indicates that you need to use 30 AMP circuit at 120 VAC which requires 10 gauge wire. I was able to operate this unit for extended period off of a 20 amp circuit with 12 gauge wire. However the circuit will need to be dedicate to this machine alone.

- After lots of research, I ordered the Powermatic 1300 w/ canister based on it's ability to capture low micron dust (1 micron) and large filtering surface area afforded by canister system (compared to bag systems). I think it's a false sense of security to buy many of the less expensive "bag" units, many of which will only capture down to 30 micron dust and coat over quickly thus reducing available dust collecting capacity of the system. My long termed health is worth the greater investment to me.
- Order was easy to place and was received in a timely fashion (4 days after order placement) - Delivery driver was courteous and helpful - took packages right into my garage for me; this is important because this machine is heavy - Assembly directions were fine and assembly went very well with no specialized tools required. All parts went together great, hole alignment was right on! Finished product is a very solid build - no squeeks or rattles - Vacuum is extremely powerful from the unit. I have not yet had occasion to try it under heavy loading, but feel confident it will handle anything my one man shop can throw at it - Machine runs fine on a dedicated 20 amp 110 volt circuit. Clear instructions provided for future conversion to 220 volt power if desired. - The remote and timed operating options are useful; should assure consistent use of device as intended - Although packaging seemed adequate, the metal discharge chute was received dented. This was a cosmetic issue, did not impact unit's functionality. However, at cost of this machine, I wanted it to look pretty which lead to perhaps the most pleasant surprise of the transaction. I called listed problem resolution number and actually promptly got an American agent to assist me! I briefly explained the issue and gave her parts numbers for chute and gaskets on each end of chute and she assured me parts would be ordered promptly. I received email verification of parts order shortly thereafter and replacement parts were received in only 3 days... amazing service and concern for customer satisfaction compared to other experiences I have had! - this is my first Powermatic purchase but I will not hesitate to purchase their products again as my shop grows; based on my limited experience with them I would highly recommend the PM 1300 dust collector to a friend.

I've had the PM1300 dust collector for 3 years now. It's a real beast, ruggedly built. Really good air filtering too. The impeller is 12" dia built with 1/8" steel impeller blades. I wrecked the impeller yesterday when it sucked up the table saw blade cap . I accidently dropped it into the table saw dust bin while the dust collector was running and it sucked it right up, bounced off the impeller blade. (Dong !!). Bent the blade, but a new impeller is only $2.50 ! Yep, dirt cheap and rugged.
I've used it a lot on table saw, planer, jointer, and never had to change the upper filter or even the plastic bag because they are still in excellent condition. I don't work for Powermatic, honest. It's just a good solid product IMHO.

Powermatic PM1300 1791077CK,
This review is from: Powermatic PM1300 1791077CK 1-3/4 HP Dust Collector with Canister Kit (Tools & Home Improvement)
I felt the Powermatic PM1300 1791077CK 1 3/4 HP Dust Collector with Canister Kit was the right combination of power and features that I was looking for. The assembly was straight forward and the operation perfect. The machine itself is built well form and fit ok. My only beef is the cheap plastic handles that mount to the collector Housing Part U in the installation guide. The other Item is four cheap plastic knobs that hold the dust canister in place. I hope Powermatic reads the reviews? I know I would if I worked for the company. Come on Guys spend a few bucks more I really don't care if you pass it on to me. Other than that I really can't complain it's a great machine!
