For those who teach literature,

Despite its brevity, this book contains many insightful ideas about literary studies at large. Especially for those who teach literature, this book is a gem. We might not agree with everything Prof. Gumbrecht says, yet every page of this book makes us think about fundamental questions regarding literary studies--why do we teach literature? what can literary studies offer? I know that I will reread this book again in the future.I am truly hoping that this book's paperback version comes out soon so that more people can be accessible to his ideas. |
