About the Author

Rabbi Tom Meyer gives lectures worldwide on Judaism and mysticism. He has had a diversified career: he was a journalist for the Detroit News and flew into Israel during the 1973 war. His experiences in Jerusalem intrigued him, and he began studying Talmud and eventually Kabbala. He quit hisjob as a reporter and, after nine years of study, received rabbinical ordination.

He didn't feel he had the temperament to becom a congregational rabbi. Instead, he opened a school in Washington, D.C., where he taught courses using the classical texts of Judaism. He also taught ethics classes on Capitol Hill.

Rabbi Meyer has returned to Jerusalem, where he currently lives with his wife and children.

The author has a gift of breaking down the complexities of life into simpler, easy to grasp concepts. I truly enjoyed this book because I felt that not only was it enlightening, but I came out with a clearer perspective on life and how to live life in a meaningful way. I would recommend this book to anyone who is serious about trying to strive to live a life full of "happiness" and anyone who struggles, to be happy with what they have.
