January 16, 2008
A dead Cosmic Avenger shows the world that there are forces at work that no mere mortal cop could possibly understand, but it doesn't matter either way because Internal Affairs has set their sights on Deena Pilgrim. Things are about to get really crazy... even for the Eisner Award-winning Powers! From the writer of New Avengers! Collects Powers (Vol. 2) #19-24.

5.0 out of 5 stars My personal favorite of all, January 14, 2008
This review is from: Powers, Vol. 11: Secret Identity (v. 11) (Paperback)
I own every Powers TPB, but this one is my favorite. I love them all, but this one held my interest more than the others because the story is just so well-executed. The surprises that come to fruition in this volume provide possible foreshadowing for issues to come!

4.0 out of 5 stars Quite Brilliant but it gets overshadowed by the stories before and after, April 6, 2011
This review is from: Powers, Vol. 11: Secret Identity (v. 11) (Paperback)
When I was about to write a review of this book, I was struck by the fact that I didn't remember much about it. Usually that's a bad thing but this one is coming in between Powers, Vol. 10: Cosmic (v. 10) and Powers Vol. 12: The 25 Coolest Dead Superheroes of All Time which are such memorable and fascinating stories that this one tends to pale in comparison.

This is a shame as this storyline has several brilliant moments including the 1930s nostalgia and the Satan molesting scene. The story line is also a great return to the format of the original volume in which every superhero is a metaphor for rock stars. This particular group seems like Fleetwood Mac circa 1989. THey don't want to retire but they aren't really the same group these days. The superheroine and supervillain marriage comes to a bloody conclusion as the superheroine finds her husband dead in his living room and she has the same "I married a cool guy and he turned into a couch potato" regrets as that character in Powers, Vol. 9: Psychotic (v. 9).

This is a brillaint comic and quite fun. If you aren't familiar with the series you will probably be a little lost, but it's worth sticking with it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Graphic SF Reader, June 11, 2008
This review is from: Powers, Vol. 11: Secret Identity (v. 11) (Paperback)
Things are getting crazily out of control.

Both of the cops Walker and Pilgrim have secrets that make them most definitely not the sort of person that should now be working in their area of enforcing the law that they have been involved with for so long.

Some superpowered escalation to be found in this volume.
