5.0 out of 5 stars Spring Cleaning Wonder, April 5, 2006

When my wife gave me the task of getting everything spruced up for an upcoming visit and cook-out for the my daughter and her kids, I was truly dreading it. Explaining that March Madness had priority was an excercise in futility. Looking for a way to minimize the time so I could see my beloved GATORS make a run in the tournament, I purchased the PWS1750.

Talking about picking winners, this thing is absolutely amazing. It came nicely packed and full of extra features that I hadn't found on other machines I had seen at Sam's and Lowe's. A hose reel and brass fittings for the hose connection to name a few. In no time flat, I had cleaned the patio & lawn furniture, BBQ grill, the floating dock and the pontoon boat. It has more power than I will ever need for my regular cleaning jobs which include removing the mold from the house siding which is a common occurrence down here in the Sunshine state.
Hooking it up and putting this dream machine to work was a breeze. The hose reel was great for storing the hose after I finished and the on-board storage was more than adequate.

One thing I discovered when I first started using my "cleaning buddy" was that it was extremely quiet when compared to my neighbor's unit. His machine has this feral cat scream emitting from it while my just purrs with a very low hum. Also, his doesn't seem to have near the power I have. Since he is my golfing buddy, he will need to get a quiet runner so we can clean in the morning while the wives are asleep then we can still go tee it up before 9am. Next to my R7 driver this is the best thing I've bought in a while.

UPDATE: My review as well as others written by those questioning the legitmacy of same are found on affiliate sites as well as amazon.com. I only wrote 1 review and stand by it 100%. Can't comment on the experience of others just mine. They should research and they will find their reviews appear elsewhere as well. It's the information age, baby!!!

I'm really in a quandary on how to rate this Powerwasher. Before it burned-up today, the pressure was incredible. The pressure was so strong it could even remove dried cement splatters from the bricks around my house. Just amazing!

I never did find the soap container, but I filled a gallon water jug with soap and water and ran the soap intake tube from the Powerwasher into the gallon jug. It works well, but uses the entire gallon of soap water in about 15 minutes. Using this method also makes it cumbersome to move the unit from place to place.

Today I was powerwashing my BBQ when the unit stopped working. While I was trying to identify the problem I noticed that the plastic parts around the pump motor had melted. The reset button on the plug would not reset either (that's a good thing). So now the power sprayer is broken and it looks terminal.

Before the Powerwasher burned-up today, I probably would have rated the unit as 4 stars. If it had just stopped working today, I probably would have rated it 2 stars. But the fact that it got hot enough to melt the plastic around the pump before the reset switch tripped, I'm giving the Powerwasher 1 star.

I'm beginning the process to have the unit replaced, now. I hope that goes smoothly. If the manufacturer replaces the unit promptly, I'll raise my rating to 3 stars. Stay tuned.

(My original review was from 10-28-06, the day this unit melted. This update is from today, 1-2-07):
I received the repaired unit back from the manufacturer in early November, but didn't use it until last week to clean the rain gutters. It worked great. Today I hooked it up, rinsed out some trash cans and was going to wash the car when the unit started smoking again! Same as before. The plastic covering over the pump motor melted when the pump overheated. Now it's broke again.

I'm going to try to get a refund. I change my rating to ZERO stars. This is ridiculous!

I had a gas powered pressure washer that was a real nightmare to start and I had to deal with gas, oil and winterizing the thing.
I finally had enough and bought the PWS1750 and what a joy to use. Although the last washer was rated at 1900 psi, I can not tell the difference in power. This is relatively quite and a press of a button and you're ready to go. I wish I would have gotten this first.

5.0 out of 5 stars Spring Cleaning Made Easy, April 9, 2006
This review is from: Powerwasher PWS1750 1,750 PSI Electric Power Washer (Lawn & Patio)
I recently purchased this product, and cannot put it down! Of course if I did my wife would notice and tell me to do something that is not as fun. I simply have moved my way through my backyard, cleaning furniture, the patio, the exterior of my shed, my car, it goes on. My last electric unit purchased at Lowes should not have even carried the name of a pressure washer, the only pressure created with it was in my head, cause it was nothing but a headache!!! This Powerwasher 1750, cleans effectively and quietly, and I cannot reccomend it enough.

I purchased this power washer just over 6 weeks ago after reading all of the rave reviews posted on it. I used it for approximately one hour to clean my picket fence and it quit working and hasn't worked since. I have been in contact with the live chat online twice and tried every suggestion and it still doesn't work. When I finally gave up and decided to get a refund, I found out it was over 30 days since the date of purchase and was not entitled to a refund. So, I contacted the company and they sent a shipping label and said they would fix it once I sent it back. But, even if it is fixed, I don't know if it will work for an hour and quit again. I was also disappointed to find out that only 25 foot hose lengths are acceptable and no extension cords should be used. None of that was stated in the description of the machine on Amazon.com. This makes it rather difficult to use on a large home and fence. Now, I am kicking myself for buying this piece of equipment based upon reviews appearing on this website.

Since I posted this review, I have shipped the power washer back to the manufacturer for repair at their cost. About two weeks later, a new power washer was delivered free of charge to my house. I was told the old power washer had a "rare internal motor problem" and it was cheaper to send me a new one then to have the old one fixed. I used the new one thiw past weekend for the first time and it worked great and really removed the mold from my vinyl-sided house quickly. So, I have to commend the manufacturer for standing behind their product and giving me great satisfaction. So far so good with the new unit. I would have to increase my evaluation from 1 to 4 stars.

4.0 out of 5 stars Needed some initial tinkering out of the box, June 20, 2006
This review is from: Powerwasher PWS1750 1,750 PSI Electric Power Washer (Lawn & Patio)
I've had it for a couple of months now and am happy with it. I was drawn to it because it was one of the higher psi electric models available. I thought the hose reel looked interesting and the advertised on-board detergent tank sounded promising.

When I first hooked it up and turned it on, it leaked water like crazy. I removed the plastic cover and tightened up the 2" section of pipe which connects to a garden hose and it worked fine after that.

There is no onboard detergent tank, only a 2 foot intake hose which you place into your own detergent container. This works fine, unless you have to move it around a lot. I primarily use mine to clean concrete retaining walls, brick and concrete patios. I find it takes about an hour to do a 10'x10' section.

The onboard hose reel is only useful for storage. When you actually use the unit, you have to unravel the entire length of hose in order to connect it to the unit.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great pressure washer holdhold use, April 24, 2006

This review is from: Powerwasher PWS1750 1,750 PSI Electric Power Washer (Lawn & Patio)
I had another electric washer that never worked right and leaked all the time. I've had the PWS1750 for just a couple weeks but it has been great. I've used it to clean the deck for re-sealing and to clean years of dirt, etc from the lawn furniture it was plently powerful and relativley quiet.

Compared to the maint for a gas unit I went with an electric and I'm very satisfied with this unit.

1.0 out of 5 stars worst customer service, September 15, 2006
This review is from: Powerwasher PWS1750 1,750 PSI Electric Power Washer (Lawn & Patio)
first time using, motor would come on, but no pressure. tried contacting them via telephone, impossible!! finally used 'chat' line, after trouble shooting with them for 3.5 hrs, determined machine was defective. all they offer is to repair and return the machine. wanted a new machine, as this machine was DEFECTIVE! even after speaking with a 'customer service manager', they said that was the best their company can offer. really glad bought this machine from amazon, as they will take the machine back and give me a refund.
moral of story - hope your machine works ok when you recv'd it, otherwise, this company has no customer service.

4.0 out of 5 stars Makes tough jobs easy, October 9, 2006

It seemed like every place I went another friend had a power washer, so I decided to look at them online. I came across this one, so I bought it. This was a great buy. It has power, 2 nozzles, and its priced right. The best part was when my friends saw what I bought. They all said the same thing. After I took it out, it took them 5 seconds to say, "No way, yours has a reel for the hose. I sure wished mine came with one."
There has been a oouple of times when I've turned it on and tried using it, and nothing happens. Its like it is just blowing air, but I walk over to it, adjust the washer so its sitting level, and then it works great!!
Look around if you want, but for the money and power, you'll be satisfied.

1.0 out of 5 stars Please don't buy this, June 12, 2007
This review is from: Powerwasher PWS1750 1,750 PSI Electric Power Washer (Lawn & Patio)
I had this unit for about 3 months before it broke. The detergent stopped dispensing. Tried to call customer service but there is no phone number listed anywhere. All you can do is chat online, which I did. They determined the problem and sent me a new suction assembly to install myself. Why am I installing this and repairing it myself when it is under warranty? After installing the new part which took a couple of hours, the detergent still wouldn't dispense. Back to chatting and their response is that I don't know how to use the unit.

Do yourself a favor and pass this one up.
