5.0 out of 5 stars Tagore's words, June 27, 2008
By
rajp (Silicon Valley, CA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Praan (MP3 Download)
Here is Tagore's English version of the lyrics to this song:

The same stream of life that runs through my veins night and day runs through the world and dances in rhythmic measures.

It is the same life that shoots in joy through the dust of the earth in numberless blades of grass and breaks into tumultuous waves of leaves and flowers.

It is the same life that is rocked in the ocean-cradle of birth and of death, in ebb and in flow.

I feel my limbs are made glorious by the touch of this world of life. And my pride is from the life-throb of ages dancing in my blood this moment.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Song from the YouTube-Hit "Where the Hell is Matt" (2008), July 12, 2008
This review is from: Praan (MP3 Download)
A wonderful song that is featured on the YouTube-Hit "Where the Hell is Matt" (2008) (Matt Harding) and was written by Garry Schyman and sung by young Palbasha Siddique.

The text is from the Bengali poem Gitanjali ("Stream of Life") from Rabindranath Tagore:

Bhulbona ar shohojete
Shei praan e mon uthbe mete
Mrittu majhe dhaka ache
je ontohin praan

Bojre tomar baje bashi
She ki shohoj gaan
Shei shurete jagbo ami

Shei jhor jeno shoi anonde
Chittobinar taare
Shotto-shundu dosh digonto
Nachao je jhonkare!

Simply love-food for my ears!

5.0 out of 5 stars Question for Matt !!!, June 26, 2008
This review is from: Praan (MP3 Download)
Hey Matt,
great work and kudos for your wonderful effort !!!
I've a burning curiosity...who influenced you to Tagore's works for adopting "Praan"? I am a Bengali and Tagore is our institution. We live by him and I was pleasantly surprised when I saw you adopt him. You don't even know Bengali...and even though you might have been told the meaning of this song by someone, is it the tune which got you hooked?
So congrats for your dances and double congrats for adopting a song sung in my mother tongue !!!
Take care,
Deb.
